So is that guy in prison for making the guns?
So is that guy in prison for making the guns?
It's a lot worse. Basically, he went to prison, and was then under house arrest. He continued to make his guides online and made royalty from them via Paladin Press, and began to release other guides such as his Expedient Homemade Ammo guide. You can find his stuff here. Sadly, around 2009/2010, he found out he had cancer. Instead of just bending knee though, he continued to go forward with his guides and gunsmithing as an act of protest. Around 2011, he was put under house arrest, and was at points unable to get medical treatment for his cancer. Some stories state that while he was waiting to goto court, he ended up dieing in a jail cell, some others say he died at home while under house arrest. Either way, the guy is somewhat a folk hero in the gun owner community. He never stopped making his firearm designs, even when it put his life in danger, and never backed down from his beliefs. One of the tragedies of his protest is that his firearm designs are now used by organized crime around the world. From crude designs in Brazil: [t]http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/lutyguns5357789improguns.jpg[/t] To guns that followed the book in Australia: [t]http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/lutysmg34553457improguns.jpg[/t] And then extremely fancy guns evolving from the original design: [t]http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/lutysubmachinegunsaustralia567457improguns-374x660.jpg[/t] Luty has without a doubt influenced the world of underground gunsmithing, and his memory will live on within the gun community as either a folk hero, or anti-hero.
One of the tragedies of his protest is that his firearm designs are now used by organized crime around the world.
Except that only proves his point because those criminals don't exist because of his book. There would still be crime and there would still be homemade guns. There might have been a version of this book written by and for criminals, which would be worse than a publicly available one.
