UFO spotted in Sao Paulo? Amateur footage from Brazil appears to show a UFO hovering over the city of Sao Paulo before disappearing in a flash of light. 7:26PM GMT 02 Mar 2011 The video, shown on Brazilian TV station G1, shows blurry images of a disc-shaped object hovering in the clouds for a minute or so – before disappearing in a bright flash followed by a trail of colourful bursts. The television station explained the clip originated from two motorists who saw the object as they were driving near the town of Agudos in Sao Paulo state. They hopped out of the car to shoot the video with their hand-held camera. According to the TV station, the cinematographers reported the earth shaking at the same time the unidentified flying object vanished in a blast of light. However, the US Geological Survey has recorded no recent seismic activity in the area. Video-editing expert Philip Cavaca voiced further doubts over the authenticity of the footage. He told G1 that the film was a well-made montage – but a hoax nonetheless. "It can be seen in one frame," he told the station. "When the truck goes by, you can tell that the UFO was moved, which is unnoticeable to the naked eye," he said. According to Cavaca, by freezing the image you can see the exact frame in which the "UFO" alters.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/ufo/8357480/UFO-spotted-in-Sao-Paulo.html The video is in the source was pretty sweet even if it isn't real.
:tinfoil:
Shame on the Telegraph for indulging in this dis-informative silliness.
So the leading scientist said that you could tell it was fake because when the lorry went past it was obvious it had moved. He said this about an object floating in the sky, hovering back and forth, and OBVIOUSLY MOVING. I fear for Brazil's scientific community. :smith: But yeah, likely fake.
I'd like to think there's something out there, but I've never been able to take UFO sightings seriously. The whole saucer-shaped flashing thing was merely our semi-comical interpretation of what a UFO would look like, not what they actually are.

I WANT TO BELIEVE /caps
I WANT TO BELIEVE /caps
The truth is out there.
Swamp Gas.
If there were intergalactic aliens visiting us, why would they come into the atmosphere? Masters of intergalactic travel, can't use convex lenses.
Theres shit out there, just none of it has decided to/has the capabilities to come to us. Heheh, just had a thought about a group of aliens across the galaxy arguing on a forum like this one over wether or not we exist.
The light moving to the horizon at the end liked like they were just moving downward on the screen.
How if it is an UFO? If we don't know what it is, it IS an UFO (Unidentified flying object) People confuse UFOs with flying saucers / alien spaceships too much
Time to purge some xenos.
You know, I'll believe it when theres a bloody fucking mothership hovering above a major city with hundreds of witnesses rather than a few shaky badly edited video clips.
the video wont load
Holy batman is that one odd UFO. Now if only somebody would identify it as an alien space craft.
Looks kinda like a blimp if you ask me.
Cant get the video to load either.

Or, rather, maybe flying saucers are just modeled after exaggerated versions of real life spacecraft. This is a new spacecraft, the Orion Crew Module: This is an old spacecraft, the Apollo Command Module: The similarity in appearance is due to the fact that the flying saucer or 'teardrop' design is simply the best possible technology for spacecraft systems (excluding space planes). You just can't build one any better. So it's safe to at least hypothesize that, since the teardrop is the best design all of our science and technology has to offer, an intelligent space faring civilization whose home planet and natural environment are similar to ours would likely come up with the same design for the same reasons we came up with it. The laws of physics are the same everywhere you go. However, I wouldn't put too much thought into videos like these. A civilization advanced enough to develop interstellar space travel would be intelligent enough to know that it's safer to observe a planet from orbit with very powerful telescopes and photography so that they remain relatively undetectable to anything that would be on the ground. You know, rather than just hovering above a densely populated city for no reason and then taking off like "shit they saw us"
Its pretty damn fake, looks like some of the tracking is just a bit off, and when that truck goes by and blocks the UFO for a bit it moves, which was stated in the article. bummer.

UFOs has been a culturally accepted way to say 'flying saucer' than anything else, it's not like it's ever used for anything else.
Theres shit out there, just none of it has decided to/has the capabilities to come to us. Heheh, just had a thought about a group of aliens across the galaxy arguing on a forum like this one over wether or not we exist.
Given the age and size of the universe and how old it is, there is PLENTY of possibility that something with even mild human-like intelligence spawned before the earth even began forming. Think about this for a second, There is the possibility, that an intelligent species has evolved beyond human intelligence for billions of years, and perhaps still exists today, while we're here in the dust with roughly 6000 years of civilization. Also, there are millions of video on the internet with questionable things in the sky, most of them are blimps, flares, etc. but a hefty chunk of them will never be explained. You also see guys like Buzz Aldrin (second guy on the moon) and several high-ranking air-force employees saying that they exist. So until something major happens, people will always remain closed-minded about these issues. Culturally accepted? Ugh... Yeah, shit very well could visit, do we have any real evidence yet? Sorry, no, we don't. I'm more than happy to believe in other life, in fact, i'm sure of it.

If your article can be summarized with a "No", you probably shouldn't write it

What I meant was that there's at least some logic to the idea that alien spacecraft could possibly resemble our own, at least in appearance or design. I make no speculation as to their propulsion technology, fuel sources, etc.

Is so fake it hurts
