[t]http://flametheirmcopoly.com.au/images/logo.png[/t]
Hungry Jack’s is hijacking McDonald’s Monopoly campaign. The Australian fast food chain wants customers to redeem their Macca’s Monopoly tickets with them for free meals. Earlier in September, Macca’s launched its Monopoly campaign, which gives its customers chance to win prizes and the jackpot of $1 million instantly. Those who purchase promotional items are given game tickets, with each reveals a message, such as free food or item. This is where Hungry Jack’s come into play. Instead of letting Macca’s have all the fun, the Australian Burger King chain is joining the game with its own “Flame Their McOpoly,” which encourages McDonald’s customers to exchange their free tickets with Hungry Jack’s meals. Every free meal ticket customers get from Macca’s has a corresponding Hungry Jack’s free meal alternative. At the bottom of Hungry Jack’s promotion is a text that reads, “In no way authorised or endorsed by you know who.”

“I think it’s pretty sad when a company has to bad mouth another to get customers,” another user wrote, to which Hungry Jack’s replied, “We just love giving Aussies the chance to enjoy a BETTER and flame-grilled burger! ;)” “This sounds like your [sic] ripping off maccas,” another echoed. “You can’t take McDonald promotions and use them at hungry jacks, it’s a game for MCDONALDS customers, no where in the terms and conditions does it say you can go to a competitor and use these. It’s not part of the game, why are you trying to steal McDonald’s customers?” an angry customer wrote. Hungry Jack’s replied, “We think it’s great to allow Aussies the opportunity to claim rewards at a great Australian owned business :)”
http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/567144/20140922/hungry-jack-s-macca-monopoly-flame-mcopoly.htm#.VCFRKPmSzL8 I saw this at HJs today and thought it was pretty funny. For reference Hungry Jack's is the Burger King of Australia
Funny because hungry jacks is a branch of burger king. “We think it’s great to allow Aussies the opportunity to claim rewards at a great Australian owned business"
hungry jacks is only good if you take advantage of their discounts/deals and only because of how cheap it is. Without them you're paying like double the price almost.
Saw it here as well. When I went in, they had a list up of what your monopoly vouchers could be redeemed for there. Don't think Maccas'll be too impressed, though.
Dang I love me some Hungry Jacks
ooh shit next it will be "trade in your hungry jacks meal for two meals at red rooster!"
I don't think those 'angry customers' realise that this is in fact a brilliant business decision on both parties' behalves. People have to buy McDonald's food to get the monopoly tickets to then take to Hungry Jacks to get meals there. And people ALWAYS buy sides so... if the customers were going to McDonald's anyway they wouldn't be buying anything from HJ's so they at least now get something out of it they never would have. Smart idea. It's great I think, like how you used to be able to take a Woolworths fuel voucher to a Coles service station and get a fuel discount with that. Until they went anal about it and refused to compete like that any further.
maccas needs to step their shit up, both kfc and hungry jacks have solid discount/deals going on, only maccas doesn't.
The customers complaining sound so childish. I love seeing competing companies take playful digs at each other.
Only in straya
hahaha fucking sick HJ's over disgusting maccas anyway, they can't even make a decent damn coffee at that mcafe bullshit
Wish we had more competitive stuff like that for EVERYTHING. I wish I could use my Mcdonald coupons at Burger King, for instance and Vice Versa.
wow I never knew u fatasses were so adamant about ur fast food chains
Whopper > Big Mac McDonald's Fries > BK Fries God I wish you could do both.
I remember back before they nerfed bestbuy bucks, my dad used to do all his Christmas shopping using them. Also, you used to get free meals pretty often. Now I just get free medium drinks and shit.
Is the chain really called "Maccas" or is this some Australian slang?
Is the chain really called "Maccas" or is this some Australian slang?
Every Aussie must make a pilgrimage to Macca at least once in their life.

The burgers are literally better at HJ's. I've got tons of these shitty monopoly stickers when I bought maccas once so this is helpful Love the fact they built a store up the road too [editline]23rd September 2014[/editline]
Is the chain really called "Maccas" or is this some Australian slang?
There is a sacred word in the Australian dictionary which is a ritual and a rites of passage for every Australian It's called partaking in a "Maccas Run"
hj's + kfc are my life rodeo tendercrisp + zinger stacker > piddly ass big mac sorry maccas ;-;
ooh shit next it will be "trade in your hungry jacks meal for two meals at red rooster!"
Eventually it will get to the point where you can start with a Maccas soft serve cone and end up with your own Oporto franchise.
I was so confused reading that article until I realized it was a burger chain. Up here Hungry Jacks is just a brand of pancake mix.
Also hungry jacks have free refills You can't get it any better
And people ALWAYS buy sides so...
Not always. When i eat at fast food places (once every 4-6 months), i either have a burger/main dish or i have a side, very rarily both. All the fat in them wreaks havoc on my GI system. Assuming Hungry Jack's serves the exact same burgers and fries as Burger King, all i like there are the fries. So if i happened to get a free fry ticket, i would go to HJ/BK and just get the free fries. Up here Hungry Jacks is just a brand of pancake mix.
Fun fact; Hungry Jack's recieved its name from the pancake brand. When Burger King wanted to operate in Australia, they found out that there was already a joint named Burger King. At the time, BK's corporate parent was Pillsbury. They wanted to pick a new name out of trademarks they already owned, and decided on naming the places Hungry Jack's after the pancake brand.
The wonders of capitalism
For some strange reason I get the feeling a customer didn't write that.
Yeah I don't understand why any customer would be angry. "Damn Hungry Jack's is offering me free burgers I'm so fucking pissed"
The title made me think that someone named Jacks was hungry & hijacked one of McDonalds order machines to get promotion for cheapers meals. I am not a smart man.
Also hungry jacks have free refills You can't get it any better
the one near me doesn't fuck you cbd
the one near me doesn't fuck you cbd
hungry jacks at the Brisbane CBD has free refills, so does the store in Ipswich Ipswich/Brisbane beat Melbourne lmao
