NEW WAVE OF THE NEXT GENERATION
NEW WAVE OF THE NEXT GENERATION
IT MAKE YOU THINK ABOUT IT MAKE YOU REMEMBER WHY YOU BECAME A GAMER
I wish people would fucking shut up with "NEXT GEN", like how people say a game isn't "NEXT GEN", or they call something a "NEXT GEN EXPERIENCE" really because I thought the xbone and ps4 was out already. Or maybe I'm just imagining the fact that "NEXT GEN" has been current gen for years now. that got old 1 year into current gen being out also, when asked "is it worth 60$" what you should really be responding is "the full game costs 120$, tell me, is that worth it for any game?"
It certainly made me wonder why I became a gamer heh Actually I never played it
Oh god, that comment at the end. I didn't think that irony could be physically painful.
Oh god, that comment at the end. I didn't think that irony could be physically painful.
And you know how fuckin' sad that made me :c
I can't believe I wasted about £60 on this, though it's certainly beginning to shape up to actually be something, it's way too late for it to recover any form of playerbase.
Oh god, that comment at the end. I didn't think that irony could be physically painful.
"This game is shit, I'll play it a lot in 3 years"
the only time i played evolve was during the free weekend, and i immediately knew it was something i wouldn't even pick up like literally, after 3-4 rounds of the game, i was already bored. there's no deep compelling variety to the game.
This is what happens when the paywall is too big and the gameplay not that deep for most players. I thought this game was gonna be pretty cool when it was first introduced, but when the whole dlc debacle happened and there was no other game modes that really spiced things up, it made for a completely forgettable experience and it showed in the daily player population. Perfect example of how you can't just make a successful franchise using business decisions/marketing, you need some kind of GAME in there.
did I hear DSP complain about the game?
I am still baffled by the whole E-Sports push for the game, they were always talking about it but the game was NEVER really ready for that kind of thing.

Like the difference between Jak 3 and Uncharted 1. The current gen (yes current gen, it's 3 years old now) is pretty much just graphics, same old shit, a little prettier, maybe better framerate. Shit the best times I've had with my PS4 has been with 'HD' remakes of previous gen titles, and the WiiU is just the same old Nintendo games on a new console.
What caused that spike of players that happened later on? Did they add new maps and monsters or something?
Free weekend.
How much do these get paid to say some good shit about Evolve and where do I sign up
Evolve was fun, but not like $120 fun.
Videos like these should be advertised as educational videos showing the danger of a game that is becoming overhyped.
Absolutely nothing wrong with getting hyped about a game. However, that hype should be based on knowing that a company you trust is releasing a great game. The problem isn't hype, its the mainstream games media being manipulated by companies (constructed events) and just being incompetent.
Videos like these should be advertised as educational videos showing the danger of a game that is becoming overhyped.
I don't think hype was the problem with Evolve, it was the fact that it didn't feel like there was enough content when it came out and on top of the money you shelled out for the game they were also asking money for a shitload of cosmetic DLC on launch, plus more money for extra content it felt like the game needed later on. It's a shame because I really kinda liked Evolve, but it died stupidly fast because of it's mistakes and I don't think the game can recover from that.
I love how we're hitting a point now where e-sports hype alone cannot carry a game, especially when it's as shallow as Evolve was. There really isn't a lot worse than forced competitive integration into a soon-to-be released game, it's ham-fisted and usually pretty terrible anyway, but the Twitch money looks so strong so the business end of developing a game usually takes charge Man what a huge letdown This video was so well crafted though, it's just one long plateau into a downhill sprint
I remember I got shit for saying I wasn't impressed when Evolve was announced by my friends.
be cool if there was a game mode like 5vs5 4 players and 1 monster on each team, your main goal as the humans obviously is to kill the opposing monster, and protect the monster on your team. Or a defence mode where 2 monsters are assaulting a base that have 8 humans instead of 4, monsters get some npc backup. kind of would be like rush in bad company
It makes me wonder how PAYDAY 2 is able to pull it off.
Wasn't it Evolve where, at first, only preorders unlocked playing as the monster? And then they changed that because everyone yelled at them for that being insane.
It makes me wonder how PAYDAY 2 is able to pull it off.
They didn't turn on the microtransactions until after getting everyone hooked on the grind, and then gradually turned the screws one at a time.
It makes me wonder how PAYDAY 2 is able to pull it off.
Well they didn't milk right out of the gate, but they didn't really "pull it off". Tons of people have quit playing and have uninstalled, people in the Payday thread are either fanboys or able to put up with all the bullshit for some fucking reason. I mean look at Rainbow 6 Siege. Their season pass is just some cosmetics and getting characters and maps like a week early. They learned from Evolve's failure.
It makes me wonder how PAYDAY 2 is able to pull it off.
I think somewhat because of its theme (bank robbery isn't exactly a theme you see a lot in gaming) and its success of PAYDAY 1 which i also find fun to play.
Is this true? If so then holy shit, how dumb can [del]game developers[/del] marketers be? This is starting to frighten me.
The answer is infinitely.
This game is remembered because it was quickly forgotten. It's the game everyone remembers they forgot
This game is remembered because it was quickly forgotten. It's the game everyone remembers they forgot
People remember it to bug their one friend that actually bought it.
