Rioters attacked liquor stores, a massage parlor and hotels after being stirred up by fiery sermons in a predominantly Kurdish city in north Iraq, police officials said today.
Pro-government crowds then attacked Islamist party offices in retaliation, they said.
Thirty people including 20 policemen were reported injured in the rampage, which followed Friday midday prayers in the town of Zakho, some 300 miles northwest of Baghdad. Zakho lies within the territory controlled by Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government.
Some 30 liquor stores, four hotels, and a massage parlor in and around the city near the Turkish border were ransacked, set on fire or otherwise damaged, they said.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity, as they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Shouldn't western media cover this?
This is gonna be inflated so much by fox news
"Terrorists continue to hate God"
Yayyyyy... Good job middle-east..
Looks like the Christians are geting their own Kristallnacht. Shouldn't western media cover this?
The difference being that Kristallnacht was looked upon favourably by the German government of the time, and this is not being approved by the Iraqi government. If you read the piece, it says that "pro-government crowds attacked Islamist party offices", implying that the government is against Islamic Radicalism.

But Muslims believe in the same god as christians.
But Muslims believe in the same god as christians.
Seeing as god doesn't exist they can't believe in the same god. And the lore is different.
But Muslims believe in the same god as christians.
"Allah" =/= "God"
Seeing as god doesn't exist they can't believe in the same god. And the lore is different.
Don't start that shit posting. And yes, they can believe something, even if it doesn't exist, believing doesn't imply actual existence or not, only that in their perspective, it is real or not.
How literally stupid are you?
"Allah" =/= "God"
How not?
How not?
Well, same I suppose, but perspective and story wise very different.
It'd be better to say one believer doesn't follow Allah, the other doesn't follow god. AKA, one doesn't fallow Islam, etc. That's the difference.

Ah, that I agree with.
I'm still surprised Christians use the Old Testament despite it contradicts the New so much. Not sure why they didn't pull an Islam and go 'the other books were corrupted by man!'
I tought it was stated in the Koran all the poeple of ''the book'' essentially believe in the same god, and thus Jews and Christians had the right to live. Something is stated like '' Our Allah and their allah is one''. However the Koran also contradicts itself by saying to never associate Allah with any other god.
How literally stupid are you?
Forget that, how figuratively stupid is he?
"Allah" =/= "God"

Doesn't Allah literally translate as God?
[editline]4th December 2011[/editline]
and by the way, Islam is pretty much in the same boat as Christianity and Judaism in terms of "Abrahamic Faith" so I see no point in fighting at all.
But Muslims believe in the same god as christians.
Christians believe in the trinity - God, Jesus, and the holy spirit together as one entity. (likely from a pagan polytheistic influence)
Muslims believe in Allah, just a single entity by himself, no trinity.
So I wouldn't really call them the same
Seeing as god doesn't exist they can't believe in the same god.
Whether or not something exists doesn't stop people from believing in it.

Just because there are "3 terms of God" in Christianity, doesn't mean it's different. They're just names.
Doesn't Allah literally translate as God?.
Yeah, and? When I say god it doesn't necessarily mean the jehova
Why exactly are people rating this winner?
Yeah, and? When I say god it doesn't necessarily mean the jehova
Although I don't care who will name what to who, I take the word "God" as a symbol. Now, if this makes sense, then all the arguments to this one symbol would be pointless. The only thing that would matter is the meaning.
Jehova isn't the "name of God", it's the word of God. [sp]I am using Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade for reference.[/sp]
Just because there are "3 terms of God" in Christianity, doesn't mean it's different. They're just names.
They are not just names. They are 3 distinct entities that are supposed to make up one god.
The Christian doctrine of the Trinity defines God as three divine persons (Greek: ὑποστάσεις):[1] the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The three persons are distinct yet coexist in unity, and are co-equal, co-eternal and consubstantial (Greek: ὁμοούσιοι). Put another way, the three persons of the Trinity are of one being (Greek: οὐσία).[2] The Trinity is considered to be a mystery of Christian faith.
Explain to me how this a good thing, because all of you are looking really fucking childish by cheering on these people for destroying businesses JUST because they're Christian-owned.
Muslim-owned = HOW COULD YOU THIS IS SICKENING
Jewish-owned = OH MY GOD YOU SICK FUCK TOO SOON
Atheist-owned = EXECUTION!!!! RIGHT NOW!!
Christian-owned = Way to go! You guys are my heroes!
They are not just names. They are 3 distinct entities that are supposed to make up one god.
You disregarded the fact that I don't care for the names. It's all a symbol to me.
The Christian God is summed with "Father, Son and the Holy Spirit" (sounds better in Italian) but they're all one entity to me.
And I'm not even a Christian so...
What are the religists thoughts on how others believe in God. Do they call them "Non-Believers" or "Minions".
That's like calling 2 billion people dumb because they aren't part of a cult. Retardation.
All this talk about muslims and christians fighting even though they basically believe in the same god is pretty pointless. Protestants and Catholics fought and they literally do believe in the same guy. Religious extremists will always fight over trivial shit no matter how similar the bigger picture is.

In terms of themselves, "The bigger picture" is their own cult beliefs rather than what life is about.

Well I wasn't addressing what you care about, I was addressing the difference between the Christian views of god and Muslim views of god.
and I'm agreeing that the christian god is supposed to be one entity made up of 3 persons, I'm arguing that this is a pagan polytheistic influence, which is one way how the Christian trinity and Allah differ.
Aaaaand that's why religion can't have nice things anymore.

Even if the god is the same, rules are different. Each cult believes their rules are the true right ones and others are just evil copycats who can't get it right.
