there's a lot of episodes where arnold gets fucked over for being so nice. i think there was one episode where the russian guy who lives in arnold's boarding house gets kicked out by his wife because he has a gambling problem, so he pretty much forces himself into arnold's room and sleeps in his bed and makes him sleep on the floor. the kids in hey arnold have some very realistic problems, most of them are really poor, helga's parents are abusive as shit, and throughout the whole show arnold has to deal with the fact that his parents are dead. i kinda like that about the show, it doesn't sugarcoat things like other kids shows, it teaches kids how to overcome REAL problems and how to respect others. if i ever have kids i'll probably show them hey arnold.
