http://rt.com/news/anonymous-israel-cyber-attack-737/
Hundreds of websites of Israeli ministries and organizations came under attack by Anonymous early Monday as part of the hacktivist group's anti-Israel operation, dubbed #OpIsrael. “On April 7, 2014, we call upon our brothers and sisters to hack, deface, hijack, database leak, admin takeover, and DNS terminate the Israeli Cyberspace by any means necessary” the group said in a statement. The move is an act of protest against Israel's policies, including those against Palestine. “The further assault on the people of Gaza, who have been flooded by your sewage, terrorized by your military apparatus, and left to die at the border while waiting for medical attention will NOT be tolerated anymore,” the statement read. “We will not stop until the police state becomes a free state and Palestine is free.”
This won't do anything but make the situation worse
Is anyone actually stupid enough to think that these cyber "attacks" actually do anything? They don't do anything but bring Anonymous into further disrepute.
Sure, attacking Israeli businesses will affect the government-- and not innocent business owners, right?
Is anyone actually stupid enough to think that these cyber "attacks" actually do anything? This only makes it worse.
They might as well just wipe their arses with an Israeli flag, it'll be just as ineffective at changing Israeli government policy while further fuelling their persecution complex and dismissal of all criticism.
Is anyone actually stupid enough to think that these cyber "attacks" actually do anything? "anonymous" is such a fucking joke.
Is anyone actually stupid enough to think that these cyber "attacks" actually do anything?
As opposed to people standing in a street with signs? How would you suggest protesting instead?
Huh. Looks like they're trying to be relevant again.
looks like the JIDF is going to pay us another visit sometime soon.
Oh no, I hope the tanks, guns, artillery pieces and rocket batteries at Israel's disposal aren't affected by a couple downed websites!
As opposed to people standing in a street with signs? How would you suggest protesting instead?
Typically, it would be helpful if they protest in a manner which does not make them look like a bunch of tossers. If they were picketing a street, and making their opinion, that's one thing. If they were blocking people entry to a business, or harassing those from entering business... that's another. If they take down websites, or deface them, it isn't a protest anymore. It's malicious.
Everybody in Israel lives in 16th century anyway. Nobody there will care if a couple of websites go down.
Hacktivists? That's a new one for me. And it sounds bloody stupid.
Everybody in Israel lives in 16th century anyway. Nobody there will care if a couple of websites go down.
That's such a weird stereotype I never really understood I won't express my own political views here (I'm neither left wing nor right wing on this issue), but this sort of protest doesn't achieve anything towards their goal, other than "showing Israel who's boss" (and it's not them anyway). It doesn't actually harm anyone and it does further reinforce the annoying trend of self persecution among some people here. Should they wish to actually make Israel do something about Gaza they should just look a few months back - The last time Israel agreed to do something was when it faced economic isolation from Europe (And the US had people rallying protests for the same thing). I think some conclusions could be drawn from that.
So basically more of the same from anonymous. I don't get the appeal of that group. Seriously, they think they're way cooler than they actually are.
Anonymous aka intelligence agencies in disguise.
So basically more of the same from anonymous. I don't get the appeal of that group. Seriously, they think they're way cooler than they actually are.
Everyone wants to be edgy and cool when they're 14.
Anonymous aka intelligence agencies in disguise.
I'm fairly sure intelligence agencies would have better ways around attacking websites (Not sure why would they be wasting resources on such an action to begin with though).
As part of my first year Engineering assignment I have to get data through pinging a bunch of websites and one of them was an Israeli website, which only produced time outs, better not be because of this :v:
So basically more of the same from anonymous. I don't get the appeal of that group. Seriously, they think they're way cooler than they actually are.
Really there's two Anonymouses. One is a convenient pseudonym hackers use when they don't want media attention, and the other is a bunch of people, some of whom can hack, who believe they can summon eachother for organized attacks usually based loosely off the strategy used in the Habbo raids of 06 and 07 (exploit something to annoy the crap out of people you dislike and draw attention to both yourself and them) usually to no avail. A very large amount of people tend to confuse the former for the latter, causing the latter to appear more competent than they actually are.

A third, and the likely culprit in this case, is that the name was grabbed by Islamic fundamentalists back during the whole Arab Spring thing to garner popular support in the West for their interests.
Everybody in Israel lives in 16th century anyway. Nobody there will care if a couple of websites go down.
Are you really this stupid?
Are you really this stupid?

Wow, you guys are too unrealistic about this. I mean come on, razors on playground? All it does is cut someone's finger tip. Doesn't kill anyone. Murdering someone is at least 20 times worse and it happens every day.
Either stupid or troll.
This whole entire thread is stupid.
Anonymous was cool, but now they're absolute shit with a shit following as well.
There's no such thing as Anonymous, it's just a bunch of script kiddies and some hackers who decide to follow some goal.
