Sue Duke, 41, was helping her daughter Lauren back into a parking space of the social club where she worked in Cuxton, Kent, when she was crushed against another vehicle. She suffered serious head injuries after being hit by the Ford Ka on Monday. The mother of three was airlifted to a London hospital where she died on Wednesday night with her family around her. One witness, who declined to be named, told Kent Online: "At first we didn't realise Sue had been hit, we just saw the damage to the car. But then we saw Sue lying on the ground. "She had been hit on the head, there was blood everywhere. It was catastrophic. We just tried to help her and comfort her before an ambulance got there. "The girl was hysterical, she was screaming and crying. It was so awful. We tried to calm her down but she was so upset." No arrests have been made and witnesses are asked to call Kent Police on 01622 798538.
that's why you don't stand behind a car with a learner in it.
"but she was so upset."
I think something would be wrong if she wasn't upset after klling her mother.
That is so fucking horrible, I would propably kill myself if that happened to me.
I would never want to drive again if this happened to me. Speaking of, I wonder if they will let her get a license after this.
I would never want to drive again if this happened to me. Speaking of, I wonder if they will let her get a license after this.
I don't see why not, I mean it was a terrible situation, but it was an accident.
I don't see why not, I mean it was a terrible situation, but it was an accident.
Yeah, but bureaucratic nonsense and all.
I'm not sure how it works in england, but she should get her liscence as long as she doesn't kill any parents while on a temporary liscence.
Fuck, now I'm more nervous about learning to drive.
I hope she LEARNS her lesson from this. More boxes please, dumb cunts :)
No women driver jokes FP? I'm proud of you.
Speaking of, I wonder if they will let her get a license after this.
I'm pretty sure both crashing into another vehicle and hitting pedestrians carry penalties. So no.
I felt terrible just reading this, I can't imagine how the poor daughter feels.
I hope she LEARNS her lesson from this.
Jesus what a terrible and horrible pun
No women driver jokes FP? I'm proud of you.
A woman directing a woman driver on how to park is a certain recipe for death. There, back to the topic at hand now.
I think something would be wrong if she wasn't upset after klling her mother.
yea..? what is your point? they purpose of putting that in the article is to give you a better image of the scene.
I was just taking my driving lessons today :tinfoil:
Oh wow, the poor daughter must feel like total shit, this is just horrible.
Fuck, now I'm more nervous about learning to drive.
Trust me driving is easy. Provided that you don't have bad drivers around you.
Fuck, now I'm more nervous about learning to drive.
it's not that difficult this was a freak accident really
All I can say, from experience teaching a couple of people how to drive, is you want to be IN the car when you are teaching someone. When someone new to driving is behind the wheel, the safest place to be is inside the 3000lb vehicle, not outside where they can run you over. Next, never get directly in front of or behind a running vehicle no matter who is driving, if you can help it. The mom could have given instructions from the side just as easily as from behind. Which brings me to the main reason I think the mom is at fault here. If the mom really thinks this girl needed someone outside the car to help her reverse into a parking space, that girl was not ready to park in a real parking with other people's cars there. Teach her in an empty lot somewhere, goddamn it's common sense.
Well of course the women only saw the damage to the car. They would have complained about the price of that damn thing, even though it was the husband who paid for it.
I'd make a bad joke, but this is too sad.
In other news: Australia bans under 18 drivers.
Women drivers eh guys
