For about a year now I've been amazed by 'Chiptune' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiptune) and everything related. I've always thought it would be cool to try it out myself and now that I have some money, I'm doing just that. I'll be buying a modded Gameboy and an LSDJ cartridge from http://nonelectronics.com who seem to be a great resource. I came to you guys because I want to know if anyone else has given it a go and if so, what software, resources or general help could you offer. As I mentioned, I'll be using Little Sound DJ for a start however I'm perfectly open to computer programs as well.
You can play chiptune with a synth, just only use the bare waves and it sounds like chiptune. That's all I can say haha sorry.
Make an Atari punk console.
Just play around with it first to get used to the different menus and find how to control each part.
http://lsdj.2x26.com/ is helpful to find some new sounding instruments on LSDJ if you're having trouble getting anywhere by yourself
