Apparently, some people just aren't into Macaulay Culkin's Velvet Underground tribute act the Pizza Underground. During their set at Dot to Dot Festival in Nottingham, as Nottingham Post reports (via Stereogum), the band got pelted with beer and booed off the stage.
Apparently, the band only performed their version of Lou Reed's "Perfect Day"—theirs is called "Pizza Day", of course—before they walked off. "Why are you throwing those," Culkin asked the crowd. "I’d rather drink them!" When the audience didn't let up, he stopped the show, saying, "That's the end of the show, goodnight."
:(
Huh. I wonder what caused the crowd to do that. Were they just really bad or did they offend the crowd in some way?
They look pretty bad.
No link?

Probably because they're shit.
The Pizza Underground is amazing how do you guys not find that shit hilarious
It's the fucking Home Alone kid singing about pizza
I am legit surprised that they have never been booed off stage before.
A little bizarre for my tastes.
Good, they are fucking terrible. Saw them in York, and they just plain suck. Being famous isn't an excuse, there are hundreds of great bands that would kill for the gigs they get because of Culkins celebrity.

"I'm glad I lobbed a pint and I'm glad it hit you," he wrote on the group's Facebook page.
Complaining about their "mockery" of "one of the greatest bands of all time", he added: "Great art should never be compromised".
Another fan told the Nottingham Post: "It just sounds awful. I can't believe he is doing this. Why bother? It must go down well in America or something."
They met a similar reception on the Manchester leg of the festival, where pint glasses were again thrown and the gig ended abruptly after a stage invasion.
Hopefully they'll get the picture.
Holy shit, they suck

"They gave the crowd pizza... what more do you people want?"
Talented musicians.
Bad news for my band, the Pasta Collective. Our single will be coming out soon with two tracks:
My Pasta Dish:
There isn't much that I feel I need
A solid noodle and the sauce I bleed
But with a little meatball, and by my salad
I only want a proper pasta dish

Olive Garden:
Uhhhhhhhhh, uhhhhhh, uhhhhhhhh (Repeated throughout)
You don't have to go to Olive Garden.
Get it on Fettuccine Records.
The Dough will Rise.

The gimmick would wear off pretty quick if you had to sit through them as an opener.

except it wouldn't be the Pasta Collective it'd just be Pasta Collective.

Cringe worthy, are they trying to be funny by replacing words with pizza? It's like a 12 year old's attempt at humour

This is the exact reason I'm going to see them tonight, who wouldn't pay £9 to watch the kid from Home Alone sing in a band about pizza?

I think they know that and that's why they're doing it. Ironically

Let us know if they get a beer shower.

Macauley Culkin reached his hipster phase a little late in life I see,
Their band sucks incredibly hard as both a band and an attempt at humour and they shouldn't get gigs anywhere ever.

it's avant-garde
Wow, how terrible. Their music, that is, and all the wasted beer, they should stop the madness before someone gets killed.
