I have been thinking about corruption and power squandering in the present times for a while now. And I thought in a perfect democratic society The populace should be able to make petitions, and if they accumulate a certain majority in the area (Town, county, state, province, country. Each is more powerful depending on the amount of people). If in a theoretical situation 60% of americans were to sign a petition to legalize pot it should skip the congress as they are only representatives of the populace and go straight to the president. And if the petition has more than 75% of the population it should be non-refutable by the president. I would imagine this would solve several problems in the governmental system. Just as well it makes sure that government is not held as god above the peasants. But more as a more efficient tool of law making that is afflicted by private interests.
In conclusion I want to discuss the idea of Headcount majority overruling parliament and being able to submit bills directly to the president.
Too late by just 2 days for my Anarchy thread. :v:

yes. give power over the minority to the majority. what could go wrong
This isn't really anarchy because It still has an appointed president and such to deal with the intelligence based descisions such as war and economy. But for laws and general grievances the populace should be able to uphold some power
"Tyranny of the Majority" End of discussion.
Well then we might as well all delve in Platonism and go stagnate in government.
