Tex Avery is a fucking genius, racial insensitivity and all. (this cartoon has also been edited accordingly)
Why cant todays cartoons be be like this.
Oh damn, right in the nostalgia. They should make Boomerang the official Cartoon Network.

Boomerang: The last bastion of quality cartoons.
Nostalgia
And good nostalgia!
It's no lieing cartoons were better back then.
I love how the music follows everything that happens on screen. Never see that in modern cartoons.

I like how the music is orchestrated.
we need gifs from this.
fucking politically correct bullshit rules for cartoons nowadays.

Because there's not enough creativity in slapstick most of the time. It's basically just two characters or groups of characters hitting each other. They always use the same jokes over and over: dynamite, hitting another character and causing them to change shape depending on the object they were hit with, and one character posing as a female and attracting another character and then attacking them somehow. Plus it's always animals, specifically cats vs mice and birds or dogs vs cats. The animation quality doesn't make it good.
Besides I don't see how everyone found this to be so hilarious as a kid. I never found slapstick funny or entertaining in my entire life and I found the music in slapstick cartoons to be extremely annoying, although well done.
Seriously, someone tell me how cartoons were better during this cartoon's time without mentioning music or animation quality.

You sure had a shitty childhood, man.

Oh my god shut the fuck up for once. How the fuck do you judge someone's childhood? If they had fun in their childhood and they aren't some terrible person nowadays, HOW CAN THEIR CHILDHOOD BE BAD? My parents were nice to me and I had a lot of fun. I grew up on video games and late 90's, early 2000's shows (Born '97).
It's the dumbest argument in the history of the universe. NO ONE IS WILLING TO ADMIT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH SOMETHING THEY LIKED WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE KIDS.
I'll admit the flaws in my childhood: My parents didn't discipline me that much (although I think I'm turning out fine), Spongebob has its problems, Rugrats has its problems, the Amanda Show definitely has its problems, and I didn't play outside a lot.

"You must have been miserable because you didn't like some bland slapstick show"
I'm sorry for being aggressive, but I'm sick of people acting like their childhood is sooooo goddamn high quality and their favorite things as a kid had no problems at all.

Maybe it's because at such short age we didn't know any better, and silly stuff like cartoons like this one were more than enough to keep us entertained for hours. It's a shame you don't see it that way.

To each his own, I guess.

No idea how it's a shame. I think playing video games was a good thing for me. Playing games provided me with challenges and made me use my brain to solve the problem and complete what I needed to do to advance. I think it's great for kids to learn to problem solve through something fun. Sadly it's made me something of an addict.
Yeah, to each his own.
i expected this, but i did not prepare.
it's a fucking cartoon and it's funny
why don't you get that 12 footer out of your ass
Ahhh that whole thing just made me smile.
WHO GAVE THE CATS DYNAMITE

This footer was shoved into my anus by all these annoying slapstick cartoons that were on too much when I wanted to watch something else that's on the same channel.
Edit: Since I see no point in me posting in this thread now that I've made my opinion clear, ever please go have your fun.

I'm from 97 aswell, and all I had to watch on our shitty cable was 50 channels, one being Boomerang. I grew up on these shows and look at me. I'm dry on humor, but atleast I was able to see what Cartoon Network originally was.

THANK YOU.
The fact that the cat is just a guy saying "meow" makes it even funnier for some reason.
Also the guy who rated late doesn't get the meaning of nostalgia or the irony in rating something from the 1950 as late.
Donald Ducks voice when he uses the ventriloquist tool
I seem to laugh at these more and more as I get older.
