The BBC's take on 4chan Is a good read Best bits:
Coventry cat tormentor Mary Bale has become the latest victim of 4chan - a website credited with creating some of the web's biggest phenomena, whose users wreak havoc across cyberspace. Just what is it all about?

Other sites, such as eBaum and Something Awful, may thrive on similar viral material or "memes", but none have become as notorious as 4chan

Despite its anarchic, Wild West nature, 4chan does have a leader, of sorts - a poster called moot. He is New Yorker Christopher Poole, who set up the site while a 15-year-old living at home with his mum.
Epic comment:
I love how its took the media over six years to catch on what 4chan is. We do more then link people to stupid videos, we influence the youngest generation of internet "geeks" and show them that they can expresses themselves in any shape or form, they do not have to confide to society's rules and regulations. Working together to corrupt the internet. We are anonymous. We are legion.
Source:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-10520487

I hate it when they imply all of 4chan is like /b/
4Chan do good things when it comes to ANIMAL CRUELTY :ghost: [editline]05:43PM[/editline] :arghfist:
4Chan on news again, awesome!
Ya, just read it. They left out some major things, underplayed some and contributed some things to them which they really weren't responsible for. I still find it funny that they still call moot Christopher Poole. Didn't they find out that that's not really his name already, just an under-the-radar reference to his initials being CP?
I try to stay away from 4chan; it's a cultural pit of social outcasts and attention whores.

He testified in court, and the court called him by that name.

"Essentially, it's about taking trolling to the nth degree and saying: 'Let's put all the trolls in one place and see what happens.'" :downs:
Newspapers and the BBC are fair game. But re-routing Justin Bieber fans to porn just isn't acceptable.
Yeah man there's a fucking line that you shouldn't cross okay
Yeah man there's a fucking line that you shouldn't cross okay
Dunno about you, but I find porn more cultivating and naturally appealing than Justin Boober.
4Chan is like a police, mayor, god, lord or a savior. It tracks down almost every animal abusers, pedophiles and other people. (even tough if they get your adress say hello for pizza) It makes world safer.

Id rather 4chan make little kids see porn than fuck about with BBC or newspapers.
Id rather 4chan make little kids see porn than fuck about with BBC or newspapers.
Kids go there and see porn gore and other stuff. Kids just should go somewhere else. [sp]What can we do about that if abortion costs a fortune. And i think that some one is going to get realy much sand in her vagina about my comments of kids.[/sp]
More a view at /b/ than the other boards.

I wish the media stopped calling 4chan a "place of mystery and fantasy". It's just an stupidly popular forums filled with idiots and odd people.
Another Anon, AnonvilleCausing minors to view hardcore pornography by planting spoof links is child abuse. Saying that it's just a joke is no excuse.
:v:
I really like /b/ when it becomes a detective. The memes mostly suck, but there's nothing like watching a community find out exactly who someone is and then outing them.

Here people aren't as honest about themselves so what you get is social constrictions. You don't understand the world or its inhabitants.
It's like a gritty anti-hero it is the savior in some cases then the devil again in others
it's like clint eastwood with a troll face
listen to the interview in the article

I also think conversation is a fucking useless form of communication that would be better off dead. I don't restrict shit, broseph.
