A fire at the former Green Giant plant in Tecumseh.
Crews were called to the Tecumseh Rd. food processor just after 2am and found flames shooting out the roof of the plant, now owned by Bonduelle. A worker tells BlackburnNews.com the fire in concentrated in a warehouse area of the plant, where pallets and totes are stored.
Four trucks from Windsor were called in to assist on site. Lakeshore fire is also on the site.
Smoke was sent across Tecumseh and east Windsor, and several roads in the area are closed. No word of any injuries.

Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara says the Bonduelle plant in his municipality employs up to 700 people during peak production and is worth $40 million annually to the town.
Maureen Facca, a nearby resident, watched the plant burn for the second time in her life.
She was a child when the plant went up in flames in the 1970s.
"I can’t believe it’s happening for a second time. It’s a large employer in the community and it’s important," Facca said. "Hopefully they stay in the community and can rebuild. You always know someone that’s working there."
This affects me directly. This is my job and it's burning away. It doesn't look like they can save it and if they do I'm going to be out of work for a long time while they rebuild.
Judging by the TV footage it's spread through shipping/receiving and is working it's way into packaging with no sign of slowing down. And our plant has plenty of chemicals in it, there is a very good chance it won't stand.
Update: Most of the fire is knocked down. Firefighters are now searching for hot spots. They will not enter the building however due to the high threat of collapse.
Maybe they will be able to employ you while rebuilding the plant? Either way I wish you luck.
Well that's depressing
:(
Added an update to the OP, state of emergency has been declared and evacuations are underway in a 1km radius of the plant.
I wish you luck. It always sucks to see your job burn away.

Thank you all I appreciate your support. I have yet to find out what this means for me in terms of employment, but I remain hopeful that something can be done.
Holy shit, never thought I'd see my hometown in Sensationalist Headlines.
I'm sorry it wasn't for something good. This is going to be a huge hit for the economy in Tecumseh.
Man, I never really liked him but he was still a pretty decent actor. RIP
Best of luck to you. Lots of mill fires where i live in BC have cost people their jobs for long periods at a time, but while they're rebuilding there were plenty of options for them to find new work or just financially be supported until the rebuilding was finished. Here's hoping that's the case for you too
good luck guys. sounds like a surround and drown situation though, not much to be saved
Reading more on this, looks like people around there are being evacuated, Possibly because of the Ammonia that the fire might've released..
