If it's going to be anything like that in the release. Then it's going to be an incredibly tedious and boring game.
Looks cool but umm....how about sticking to your main game Spore that has a lot of potential.
Looks cool but umm....how about sticking to your main game Spore that had a lot of potential.
Fixed that for you buddy.
is it just me or does that look really boring
Oh, so it's finally the serious non-casual approach i wanted on Spore for s... Oh, it isn't. Nevermind, I pass...
We don't want a Spore franchise with tons of spinoffs and shit, we want the Spore of 2005.
I really wish they just stopped trying with this franchise.
The character creation better be good if this is all the gameplay has to offer...
The character creation better be good if this is all the gameplay has to offer...
It isn't.
I’m confused. What does this have to do with Spore? It looks more like a semi decend diablo/torchlight/dungeon siege clone. Will there be features from the first game present in this one, or is it a completely unrelated spin.off with a stupid name? I mean, it would be kinda awesome if you had the evolutionary creation process to model your different heroes and the exploration of the galaxy stage where you can visit literally thousands of planets, encounter mobs created by other players and murder them diablo-style.
That's pretty much my exact question as well.
The character creation better be good if this is all the gameplay has to offer...
Last I heard was that you only had a handful of preset characters to chose from and that was it.
They should just make a Spore Space Stage game with a growing interactive universe.
That's pretty much my exact question as well.
I guess this answers that. Probably would have gotten it if it was the other way around. This just doesn't make sense. They're piggy backing off of a franchise that was very unsuccessful.
I really wish they just stopped trying with this franchise.
Someone needs to make a really good game about evolution and creature customization, just what the 2005 Spore was supposed to be until its features were strongly reduced (No water stage, worse graphics...) and then it was focused to a more casual and child-friendly gamer fanbase, just like those damn Sims. The only entertaining thing about the current Spore is the creature stage, just because it's the part when your creature evolves. If only there was an option to eliminate all the completely retarded and stupid default creatures and letting me put only realistic ones I would be more happy, but NOOOOO, they just had to put all those deformed abominations that look like unoriginal hybrids of real-life animals instead of proper alien creatures. If some gaming company does this, my inner child will have his dream come true, even if Square-Enix decides to remake/make a sequel to EVO Search for Eden (Too bad the company is, from what I understand, in a pretty bad situation due to the astronomical failure of Final Fantasy 13 and 14, specially the last one)
Fixed that for you buddy.
It still has potential, it's just the refuse to work on it.
The name is surely original.
Spore had so much potential, they should have listened to the community instead, and do Spore 2, and upgrade it. But here now is some hack and slash co-op wannabe game spin off.
From evolution simulator to creationist arcade. Spore so deeply dissapointed me. I will never buy anything of that franchise again because they NEED to keep some of the spore they already made in the series and even that little bit already puts me off.
It somehow reminds me of the footage for Diablo 3, except Diablo has a future. This game's still in early development, so I don't think we should be criticizing it so soon.
Last I heard was that you only had a handful of preset characters to chose from and that was it.
Ew.. Then why the hell would they advertise that the game has great character creation and customisation like Spore?
Ew.. Then why the hell would they advertise that the game has great character creation and customisation like Spore?
It's just what I heard last time, it's fully possible that they later decided to implement the creature creator function into this game too.
Dear Will Wright. You can't start something like Spore and run off at the first (very big) hurdle. The hurdle labelled "Suck". Sims is doing better without you but EA is going to rape Spore in the butt hole. And I was pretty sure it couldn't be fucked any more.
Are they trying to make it edgy by adding "Dark" onto the title? This is just sad.
Ew.. Then why the hell would they advertise that the game has great character creation and customisation like Spore?
As I've seen it, the character customiser is akin to the tribal editor in Spore: that is to say, you can't alter the creature's shape, but can add/swap clothing parts. Only difference I've seen so far is that you can switch feet/hands around too, which is hardly good customisation. [editline]15th November 2010[/editline]
Dear Will Wright.
Hasn't he left Maxis?
I think that is what he is implying too. I remember when i got Spore early on the 28th august. Then some euro company asked me what i rated it, I gave it a 5/10. Funny how everyone raged how im full of shit, now noone ever talks about it anymore.
Spore was so much fun at first, even though it would barely run on my computer without crashing every few minutes. I got half the guys in my class hooked on it, and we all shared the same disc because there were no restrictions. :v: My disc disappeared though.
My favorite part was the creature stage and they have so much they can add to it. WHY EA! WHHHHYYY!! I won't be buying Darkspore though.
