Anyone got the password list to check if my account is compromised?
How the fuck is this late? It was literally posted this morning and I couldn't find it on the 1st page of SH...

I'm glad right about now that I keep the very important stuff in TrueCrypt containers.

Truecrypt was compromised months ago.
According to the article, it was NOT compromised, its just matching usernames/passwords from other sites.
http://pastebin.com/aRgTJzzg first tease apparently
http://pastebin.com/1AZQ7McK second teaser apparently
http://pastebin.com/NtgwpfVm third tease apparently
Is this the list?
Edit: trying to find the second.
Edit2: idk how many more but i got three.

source?
i mean phase 1 of the audit found 0 backdoors, and i cant find anything on google. The only thing i find is the whole 7.2 thing, and not about 7.1 (the one everyone uses)
I hacked into gmail and stole 500 billion passwords
give me 9000 billion dollar$ by monday or I leak them
Change your password and you're fine, was that really so hard? seriously, these 'leaks' happen all the time. Most likely a kid trying to be known as a leet hacker or they were found online
like seriously this is less a password leak and more a "bitcoins please"
-snip-
damn automerge
fuck
It wasn't compromised. They said there COULD be a weakness in it, but there was no vulnerability ever found.
I haven't used dropbox since forever, so I would have no real clue what my password would be.

google drive / mega is better anyways
F drop box these days

Well last year there was a panic that it was insecure, but May of this year they dropped Truecrypt so there may be bugs which we don't know about.
I'm not worried because I use 2-step verification, and so should everybody.
Good thing I went to mega.
"These usernames and passwords were unfortunately stolen from other services and used in attempts to log in to Dropbox accounts. We'd previously detected these attacks and the vast majority of the passwords posted have been expired for some time now. All other remaining passwords have been expired as well," a Dropbox spokesman said in an email to Reuters.
OP please read the shit before you post, this title isn't just sensationalist, it's an outright lie.
Nobody has compromised shit, it's just one of these old databases of gmail addresses with mostly years outdated passwords and some nerdshits who try to scam bitcoins out of people for trying the names and passwords with dropbox looking for some that will work.

The only thing keeping me from Drive is their terrible desktop app to be honest. Dropbox's works way better with my workflow and I'm still not even halfway through with my 12 gb so I can't be bothered to change yet.

Trucrypt has a few flaws after a security audit, but none of them are actually major enough to compromise it if you know what they're talking about in the document.
The action of abandoning Trucrypt alltogether is too exaggerated for these minor flaws.

drive freezes at times and is a bit more sloppy but I definitly am more happy with it
besides, 15gb free without "Email refer X people" "link another device" bullshit they had when I used it

Even if these were actual leaked dropbox accounts, and not just emails that coincidentally are tied to DB, I have two step and I've been meaning to change my password since I did with every other site anyways.

Yeah, I think they give you like 25 GB these days? That's a pretty good deal I can see why someone would rather use that.
This is why I don't use online file storage services.
i dont even remember my dropbox details
you cant get much more secure than that
Yeah, I think they give you like 25 GB these days? That's a pretty good deal I can see why someone would rather use that.
25 free is pretty nice
though, they don't have 2$ for 100gb, but I think they have about the same prices?
I'm paying 2$ for drive, fits what I need.
I hear mega gives like 50gb free though, that's pretty crazy. I wonder how much 50$ cost for online storage years ago.

Wait so I don't have to change my 11 passwords?
Good thing dropbox itself isn't compromised. And that this is people using the same password for everything.

They're both ten bucks a month for a terabyte, so they're pretty evenly matched
I'm so glad I got smart and used keepass
at the same time I couldn't tell you what the fuck any of my passwords are right now without it because they're so god damn long and awkward

I use LastPass myself, and yeah password managers are incredible. I memorize passwords for very important things, though, like my bank account and gmail.
I know people who use Keepass with Dropbox or Drive and it works wonderfully for them, it's a great program.

Drive fucked up a bunch of the files for songs and websites I was working on and I lost tons of work. Never trusting it again.
