After releasing its latest preview build, 10061, to Windows Insiders last week, it released an update for that build earlier today, addressing the 'black screen' issue that some users had encountered when trying to log in to their devices. ... Unlike other builds, which have a "Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview" watermark on the desktop, this latest build, 10.0.10074.0.fbl_impressive.150424-1350, features a slightly different version, replacing 'Technical Preview' with 'Insider Preview'.
That cortana blurb seems a bit penguin of doom-y
That cortana blurb seems a bit penguin of doom-y
what? it's pretty typical corporate facade-speak. It's like the unhappy smiley in the Win8 BSOD. It's just inoffensive-yet-hip-sounding conversational language used to soften the edges of a user experience.
there's a smiley in the win8 bsod?

i've never had that happen to me seems a bit too simple, like where's the error code and all?
i've never had that happen to me seems a bit too simple, like where's the error code and all?
As stated, it gives you the error code that actually matters for you to google and figure out the issue. Narrows it down a lot for people who get extremely freaked out when they see a DOS-like screen.
Do you want to get started with Cortana?
That sounds like a pretty big question when I'm already in a committed relationship with Siri..
i've never had that happen to me seems a bit too simple, like where's the error code and all?
I think it's really nice, keeps things easy. If there's an error code to be shown, it just has it in parenthesis.
I think it's really nice, keeps things easy. If there's an error code to be shown, it just has it in parenthesis.
It's way less intimidating for the average user, for sure.
It's way less intimidating for the average user, for sure.
I wish there were multiple modes for BSOD levels of detail. Such as: - 8/8.1/10 style: most simple, most recent - XP/Vista/7 style: somewhat of a balance between complex and sort of simple - NT 4/2000 style: hardcore mode. All data available displayed, not for the faint of heart
- NT 4/2000 style: hardcore mode. All data available displayed, not for the faint of heart
easy mode. I prefer printing the entire state of the ram in hex.
Do we really need a news thread for this for every single leak and update?
That sounds like a pretty big question when I'm already in a committed relationship with Siri..
Why not take both?
Do we really need a news thread for this for every single leak and update?
I find them exciting. I like them. Other people do too, or they wouldn't be posted.
