• Shooting(IV) old blood.

I IV'd a syringe with old blood in it, I thought it was less than an hour old because I pulled out after not being able to find a vein. Then, I little while later I found the syringe that I thought I shot up. Turns out the one I shot was a day or two old. Now my arm is in excruciating pain, swollen and has a big ass red blotch on it. On top of that, I'm not sure I even hit a vein. Do you guys think it's swollen and red because of infection or because I missed the vein? It swelled and turned red almost instantly after shooting. I've never missed a vein before so I don't know. The blotch/swelling is about 6 inches long by 3 inches wide.
what, were you shooting an actual substance or were you shooting nothing but your own actual blood? :pwn: i think i misread that ...
Do you guys think it's swollen and red because of infection or because I missed the vein?
could be both, i think you should get it checked out by a doc; anyway this is a good place to ask for help with this stuff: http://boards.420chan.org/opi/
If it's not your blood you could be having a really horrible reaction. Please don't reuse needles.
I was shooting hydromorphone, 4mg. It just had old blood in it. I'm kind of scared to go to the doctor, I don't want to be marchman acted. I'm taking Tylenol and some amoxicillian just in case it's an infection. Until I took an oxy 40(OP/40) I could barely use my right arm. The vein isn't bulging or anything which is why I'm not too worried about it being an infection, and I had a fever of 100.5, but I think that's from withdraw. I felt feverish before this happened. I'm gonna wait another day and see how it looks tomorrow morning before I decide whether or not to go to the ER.
Wait until tomorrow and it's gonna be like this.
I don't know why you would risk shooting old blood anyway, it seems like a great way to get an infection Edit: I read your post. I really recommend you post on bluelight, they know much more about IVing than us.
/opi/ on 420chan is awesome too. I don't even shoot drugs but after lurking there for around a year and a half I know as much as a junkie.
reposting a picture and video is hardly knowledge. i've barely seen anything productive from you in this thread.
I'm not a doctor, what do you want me to tell him. Your post isn't even helping out OP I'm at least warning him of the dangers of reusing needles.
you basically made a bloody boil probably deep in your dermis quite possibly below the dermal layer. congrats you know how you know if you found a vein? you pull up on the plunger and see if blood goes into the syringe's chamber when you've got the needle in your arm. that couldn't be a more stereotyped way for shooting up. it's in pulp fiction for fuck's sake, as well as trainspotting and i'm pretty sure requiem for a dream. if you're using tar or something dark you're shit out of luck. [editline]4th August 2012[/editline] but yeah, you're gonna have to goto a doctor and tell them what happened. you're probably gonna get fucked at least a little because of this, but you fucked up! [editline]4th August 2012[/editline] stick to meat shots [editline]4th August 2012[/editline] better yet don't shoot up at all.
wtf man see a doctor
How did you think that was a good idea? Go to the hospital now.
^ lol. it might seem scary but just dip to a doctor and be like my ex girlfriend really fucked me over
post pics
this thread made me cringe.
Sounds like you muscled it
whoa there are so many storm troopers and tanks in here it feels like a space med-bay in here
Sounds like you muscled it
it sounds like he missed the vein and injected shit into his skin. if he did a meat shot there wouldn't be any problems like this
it sounds like he missed the vein and injected shit into his skin. if he did a meat shot there wouldn't be any problems like this
I don't know about that friend, I've seen friends shot into their muscles from getting pissed and not finding a good vein and they get it like this. But hopefully he just got an infection. Or else his muscle will look all fucked up.
the big assed red blotch is a dead givaway. i've seen people miss the vein, even the muscle (if you aren't quick, delicate and swift with the needle meat shots can be just as bad as IV) and where they shot up there was this big red blotch. that big red blotch is a pocket of whatever you shot up trapped in your skin. and any other symptoms are because of that. there is a high risk of infection. i won't dispute that one bit, considering he fucking shot up old blood. god knows how stale it is or it was even stored properly. i honestly don't even want to know because "dead" blood is FULL of pathogens. our blood is brimming with all kinds of things that microbes love to eat. our blood is basically how our fuel/food is distributed throughout our body. blood that's dead and has been left out for even a day at room temperature is probably crawling with all kinds of terrible things. trust me, the guy missed and put naughty water where it's not supposed to go. OP you probably need to see a doctor ASAP actually, this is pretty severe because you might have basically injected the equivalent of water from a gutter in a Brooklyn crack ghetto.

You put my visual into words. He probably simply shot under the epediis and ha the bump grom the water an hydromorphone being there. But it could have just been a red bump for that reason. It usualy gets red from the swelling, and I'm sure OP isn't resonding because he realized the water eventually disolved and the bump went away naturally. But your right, if he has the money or insurance, it wouldn't hurt to go see a doctor. But doctors are mainly money pits now-a-days. But yeah your right, I doubt he plunged it all the way to the muscle and simply missed the vein alltogether, and then proceded to worry from the daludid as it slowly absorbed into his system.
i hope the op isn't fucking retarded and takes this positively as a learning experience.
