So, recently, I bought this tempur pedic mattress cover thing (like 2 inches thick) that lays over my mattress from my friend for 10 bucks.
Turns out, his room and his dog who sleeps in that room, were infested with fleas.
So I ended up getting fleas myself. I stripped off the sheets, washed everything, took the tempur pedic thing and put it in a room with no people or anything around it for about 2 days, and I slept on the couch rather than my bed.
Then, I put everything back in my room and used one of those Flea Bomb things (See: Below)

And that filled my room for about 6 hours today. I followed the directions (It said 2 hours in the least) and let the room vent for 30 minutes (The recommended time)
Now i'm writing this, and am wondering if it will be safe if I put the sheets back on my mattress and sleep on it (With the tempur pedic thing) tonight?
gonna explode
should be fine, go for it
i've been to a friends house that was infested with fleas and i just took a shower when i got home and they went away
maybe i'm just lucky

Fleas don't really live on people, especially if you shower and stuff.
They like furr.
OP, are you itchy?
Not itchy, but covered in bites from the night of sleeping on the mattress pad.
They don't itch much anymore, and are starting to go away, but they do hurt.
Well, Ive never had fleas, but I HAVE had a tick on my dick before.
Use fire, it kills ALL pests.
It kills them dead.
Yeah, you'll be fine.
had fleas for awhile here, stray cat wandered in and had them from that, have around 15 bites around both my ankles and all over my right arm, they healed into discoloured spots :sigh: .
but yeah, just keep venting a little and should be ok.
So, do we all concur that it will be safe to sleep on my own bed tonight?

true but they're attracted to body heat
If you followed the instructions then you'll be fine.

Well I followed them exactly.
true but they're attracted to body heat
Also true.
I think i'm good. Thanks FP.
I know you said you're good and all, but if you are uncertain if it's safe, just sleep with your door open or something.
I think OP's asking if the fleas are gone not if it's ventilated.
Why would you buy a matteress cover from a friend? I just find that a bit weird
I had fleas in my house before... I'm covered in scars.
Make sure you've killed all the bastards.

This makes me not want to sleep in my bed tonight.

I actually didn't BUY it, but we were playing poker and he needed more poker chips, so I let him take 10 dollars worth in the form of a mattress.
I won like 30 dollars that day, plus the mattress cover.
the fleas probably aren't gone
they will have spread out of your room via your carpet into the hallway
you pretty much have to bomb the whole house when you do it, shit fucking sucks
make doubly sure you get your garage etc if you have any old carpets in there, they love those things

I'm in denial of this.
I won't believe it. It better not come true.
fuuuu.
I hate animals.
Unless the spray is not good for health, just spray it everywhere, everywhere.

Well, can I sleep in my bed soundly tonight or no?!
Safe in terms of the chemical bomb? Should be fine.
Safe in terms of fleas? No. If you don't nuke your entire house from orbit those guys are going to live there for quite a while.

One more thing that we did not tell you nor the company which produced the spray. Usually if that spray does not kill the fleas, the toxic chemicals that were included in it makes their thin blood drinking organs mutate into sharp powerful jaws that are capable of easily processing human flesh.
Those mutated flees then gain an interest of detecting human sleep cycles to attempt a brain entering procedure through the tear glands.
When inside, they immediately modify specific parts of the brain for the human to become paralyzed, but stay alive.
They then proceed to slowly feed on your body, starting with the softest tissue, and ending with bone marrow, you stay alive approximately up to the point when they start consuming your muscles, the death is usually caused from blood loss and nervous shock.
All I can say is, make sure to kill all the fleas, or they will make sure to kill you, slowly but surely.
