Adam Catanzarite bought a pair of earphones at a store in Portland, US, but when he checked his receipt he noticed ‘f@g.com’. The alleged slur appeared where the customer’s email address usually goes. He posted a photo of the receipt on his Facebook page and wrote: ‘So here’s a thing. I got called a f@g by an #Apple employee here in #Portland. ‘The store manager did not do what he said he would to rectify the situation, so now I feel it is important to share the story. ‘Being queer and having worked with queer youth, I know first-hand that this is an example of the type of #homophobic beliefs and actions that lead young people to harm themselves. This type of action is NOT OKAY, especially from a company that prides itself on being LGBTQ inclusive and welcoming.’ He continued: ‘My friends, I please ask that you like this status or share it with your networks to let them know that #homophobia does not have a place in PDX (or anywhere) and that you reconsider where you spend your money. Perhaps the #Applestore is not so deserving. ‘But when he checked his receipt days later, the place reserved for the customer’s email address had been replaced with the words f@g.com.’ A spokesperson for Apple said it was aware of the incident but declined to comment any further.
http://metro.co.uk/2014/08/14/gay-apple-customer-handed-receipt-with-fg-com-on-it-4832869/
Serves him right for buying Apple earphones.
We don't know the whole story, how do we now this person isn't fat?
I thought it was another customer actually: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1417609
We don't know the whole story, how do we now this person isn't fat?
Yes because it's OK to call people a faggot if they're gay AND fat.
Yes because it's OK to call people a faggot if they're gay AND fat.
whoosh
I hope they severely punish the idiot responsible for this.
Yes because it's OK to call people a faggot if they're gay AND fat.
f@ = fat
is writing in hashtags really the way of the future?
calling a customer a fag while working for a company with a CEO thats gay something tells me he's not going to last long
I remember one of my friends worked in a LAN house and there was this black guy who wanted a new username for his hotmail and he gave him this alias: "BurntPopcorn"
He paid no tax on those headphones.
f@ = fat
Explain fatg.com and what significance that has, and how it's more probable than fag.com?
Explain fatg.com and what significance that has, and how it's more probable than fag.com?
Fatgay.com
I'm always skeptical of these kinds of stories because its so easy for someone to fake this kind of thing just to get 15 minutes of fame, and it has been done plenty of times before. For all we know when they asked him for the email he said 'f at g.com', or maybe if he said he didnt want his email they just punched the two letters that are next to each other without thinking, as I think entering an email is mandatory for them. He said he doesn't care if the email wasn't intentional, and linked this - http://everydayfeminism.com/2013/07/intentions-dont-really-matter/ (because if someone genuinely genuinely does something like this just as a random event then they should be held accountable as if they said it with intent to offend him, right? There's a big difference between a random event and being unintentionally offensive, to me at least.)
Probably just some fratty kid who thought it would be hilarious and is about to face serious repercussions for it.
How did the Apple store know he was gay?
How did the Apple store know he was gay?
There are two kinds of gay men in my experience: type A and type B. Type A will make sure that everything knows they they enjoy a good schlong up the butt and are as flamboyant as Americans are fat. Type B is a ordinary bloke that happens to likes blokes.
is writing in hashtags really the way of the future?
It's super #important that you make every single #emphatic word in your sentence #hashtagged so that people can find it when they #search.
Riiight. Because you can easily typify people into two different types just because they like dick.
Yeah it's pretty easy to separate flamboyant people from non flamboyant people.
I thought it was another customer actually: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1417609
did you guys tear him apart because it looked like you guys teared him apart well he did have it coming..
Probably just some fratty kid who thought it would be hilarious and is about to face serious repercussions for it.
All those frat bros working at Apple, right?
Just saying whenever I go to the bar that's what I see.
That doesn't make it representative of fuck-all. That makes it representative of your bar, but as a whole that has absolutely no reflection on the human race. Everyone in my family is blonde, and my family are the few people I see on a regular basis so I guess everyone is blonde, right?
All those frat bros working at Apple, right?
You never know. Apple employs plenty of college students part-time.
I think it's fake, or that he was being an asshole to the guy working the register, I mean really.
