Democrats' reported 2018 slogan bears a strong resemblance to Papa John's
Democrats are reportedly rolling out a new slogan on Monday that is aimed at drawing attention to the party's economic message.
Late on Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that congressional Democrats are set to release a de facto 2018 campaign platform focused on highlighting their positions on economic issues, under the slogan "Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages."
News of the slogan leaked out further on Thursday.
According to the Post, the platform will highlight Democrats' policy goals, including "tax increases on the rich, affordable college, infrastructure spending, higher wages, job training, paid family leave."
Some Democrats have been using the slogan — which is reportedly the result of poll testing and research — for months.
Sen. Tim Kaine used it in an op-ed in USA Today in May, and followed it up with a tweet, while other members such as Rep. John Garamendi have also tweeted the slogan recently.
The slogan generated some backlash on social media, where some users pointed out that it was reminiscent of pizza chain Papa John's longtime slogan: "Better Ingredients, Better Pizza."
Papa bless
what the fuck is wrong with the democrats lmao
at least its better than "Have you seen the other candidate xD!!!"
What does it even mean?
People with better skills should get better jobs with better wages? Isn't that a given? Are they really going to say this and then turn around and spout nonsense about imaginary pay gaps?
Unless they're going to release an ad spot that looks like a Papa John's ad but it's selling Democrats instead of pizza, this seems dumb. The English language does not have an infinite supply of words to express a concept.
"More stuff-you-want" is a better slogan than "I'm with Her" which sounds absolutely fucking awful out of context nine months later. :vs:
Skills
Jobs
Wages

:conspiratard:
well regardless of the slogan itself, the economic message is definitely a step in the right direction
Papa John's: I Mean, Have You Seen Pizza Hut?
Make America Better Again.

Crazy idea, but maybe they want the federal government to invest more in education, infrastructure, and energy projects and that this might lead to higher wages.
It sounds totally impossible and against the Democratic platform, right?
I'm sure they'd be better off with "Turning you gay, taxing your mother, and taking your guns"
Seriously though, what the fuck would you guys be happy with? This doesn't seem like a terrible slogan. The very slight connection to Papa John's seems like such a stretched jab, I'd probably never have noticed it had it not been pointed out by "some people on social media" and subsequently this shitty article.
All things considered I'm actually quite happy with that platform, seems pretty solid on the economic front.
Ten years ago we had Steve Jobs, Bob Skills, and Johnny Wages. Now we have no jobs, no skills, and no wages.

What it means is they want to try to get everyone the skills they need to get better wages at better jobs.

They picked a message so simple that it is almost synonymous with a pizza ad and people still can't understand what it means
we're doomed

Better skills: Training people better for their jobs, meaning a better education system to prepare people for skilled work.
Better jobs: Making the working environment better. Equalizing pay and treatment of employees, increasing quality of treatment for employees, etc.
Better wages:

I don't see what's wrong with this slogan
Well democrats look like they're fixing to fuck themselves over again.
A lot fucking better than "derr I'm with her :downs:"
Pizzagate confirmed again.
Wake up sheeple
Reminder: The dems won the 2016 election.
Yeah sure buddy, they won, that's why every branch of government (not just the presidency) is Republican controlled. That's some crazy mental gymnastics to turn that into a win. If that's your idea of victory, I want no part in it.

He's talking about the general election for presidency, in which the democratic candidate had a lead of 3 million votes.
Straight forward and lacks cringe (despite Papa Johns similarity), so it'll do. I especially like that it's focused on the economy.

I know what he's talking about, and to say the democrats won is delusional. The democrats didn't win, they lost hard, everything they've worked on is at risk. They got lazy, they got cocky, they got complacent, and it cost them the election. The Democrats thought they could win by sitting back, watching the polls, and making fun of their opponent and his supporters. You saw Trump in the headlines every day, he did this, he did that, he's having another rally this week. Not only did Hillary barely make the headlines in comparison, but half the time she did it was part of a smear campaign, and her campaign made little effort to counter these as well. They would have won if not for their hubris, their unwillingness to campaign properly, and their poor handling of the misinformation campaigns directed at them.

In a broader view yes but not in regards to what was actually posted
