Activists are hoping to keep the momentum alive after a weekend of protest marches and rallies aimed at President Donald Trump.
While last weekend’s marches focused on women’s rights, activists on social media are hoping to use a rally on April 15 to pressure the president into releasing his tax returns.
During the campaign, Trump repeatedly promised to release his returns. However, White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway said on Sunday that he no longer planned to do so because “people don’t care.”
I get the point of doing it on tax day but if you want to keep the momentum going, three months from the first protests sounds like a bit of a stretch...
Do you think if I don't file my taxes? No one, not even the IRS, will care about them?

I guess it's meant to be more "symbolic" than anything
Can anyone tell me anything Trump has done as president so far that is inherently bad? I mean, at least give him a chance, Jesus

His entire cabinet is concievably the worst group of people assembled for the role in temperment, competency, and character.

A chance to destroy the world and destabilize it? No

So now on his third day in office (still Day 1 according to Trump) is when we have to resign ourselves to only criticizing what he has already done and not the multitude of things he he has already campaigned on?
Furthermore, this event is specifically about Trumps refusal to release his Income Tax records. That is something he repeatedly said he would eventually do, but is now refusing to.

I guess you don't think that lying is inherently bad?

I mean this in the politest way, but have you been living under a rock?

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer blatantly lied about the inauguration crowd size, fabricating actual made-up numbers, directly to the media. Blatant lying from the White House on the first day.
Kellyanne Conway defending Sean Spicer by claiming that he was using "alternative facts," further gaslighting the country and making a mockery out of the White House.
Trump's WhiteHouse.gov website has a page where he pledges to sign the First Amendment Defense Act, a "religious freedom" bill that effectively nullifies LGBT anti-discrimination legislation in the name of religious liberties.
By himself? His usual worrying rhetoric. Implying that "maybe we'll get another chance" to go to Iraq and take all the oil. Calling the media "the enemies." Other than that, the White House press department seems ready to go full-blown disinformation gaslighting on the American people.
He hasn't set much into motion yet, but everything he's talked about has been beyond worrisome, especially if you give half a shit about freedom of the press and you don't appreciate the White House becoming a fake news manufacturer.

It would be nice if people would stop saying this, it makes no sense.
What has he done that was bad? How about all the lying during his campaign, and the flip-flopping, and the unwillingness to release his tax-return? Nope, let's move the goalposts

As the others pointed out.
But then you may think 'Yeah but it's just a lie about a small thing'. Yeah that's the problem. Why lie about such a petty fucking thing? They're probably gonna lie about big things too then.

Like the perspective that a Stanger asks if you are lost and you immediately gun it thinking he's going to hurt you.
As the others pointed out.

Getting people to believe little white lies makes it easier to get them to believe bigger lies.

the job started november 9th as prez elect, hes failed so far to unite the country, failed to prepair himself for the job, failed to clear up longstanding issues, failed to nominate a compident cabinet, failed to even stay off twitter for 5 hours
I think protesting/marching etc. as much as possible leading up to Tax Day would make more of an impact than organising one protest for 3 months' time.
Can anyone tell me anything Trump has done as president so far that is inherently bad? I mean, at least give him a chance, Jesus
I see we've gone from "It's still in beta" to "Wait for the first patch."
Or you know, just wait out the 4-8 years like a good citizen and stop looking for reasons to block up the streets, trash the place and incite violence.
Yeah, fuck having a political voice on important matters, just lie down and take the bullshit like a good boy

was it winning?
was it winning?
Nah he did that as a candidate, not as president.
Like the perspective that a Stanger asks if you are lost and you immediately gun it thinking he's going to hurt you.
He's told us what he's going to do, and has begun to move towards enacting those goals. Your analogy is shite.
Nah he did that as a candidate, not as president.
it's still early.

Do you actually believe this or are you acting a fool?
What color beanies are the protesters gonna wear this time around? I would love to buy a bunch and sell them near the protesters for a profit.
Imagine doing taxes on Tax Day to a government that thinks not paying taxes makes you smart. It would probably be terrible in practice for many reasons, but wouldn't it be pretty cathartic if millions of people just didn't pay their taxes because Trump says it's smart?
Can anyone tell me anything Trump has done as president so far that is inherently bad? I mean, at least give him a chance, Jesus
I've seen this post many times before, always posed as a joke. Please define how long a time period a 'chance' is, because he's clearly already provided a couple of examples of inherently bad things in the past couple of days. How much more does he have to do, and for how long, before you'll stop giving him the benefit of the doubt?
I'm not saying people shouldn't have a voice, just they shouldn't go around fucking with people's lives in order to voice their opinion and that's what always happens.
These people can't just calmly sit on the sidewalks and wave their signs and chant their slogans. They always gotta blocks streets, start fires, beat people up, etc. It's never peaceful with them.
Yeah it's nice to stand up for something and make yourself known, but there's people who gotta get to work and people who don't want their shit smashed up just because other people are feeling angsty.
You're saying this as if the latest protest was incredibly violent or something. Besides a few incidents it was the model peaceful protest.
