Last night I stayed at my friends house with a bunch of mates, we got high, fucked around for a bit and then stumbled across this old DVD in his room. Named 'The Wall' my friend told us that it makes you trip even when your not stoned. Curiosity got the better of us and we went downstairs, turned all the lights off and started the movie on the big TV. Fortunately it had surround sound, increasing the enjoyment of what was to come. The company logo dissapears and suddenly it opens with a long corridor slowly zooming down, a women switches on a vacume cleaner and it flicks to black, the opening credits begin and the title 'The Wall' is shown. What followed was one of the most extreme and eye opening experiences i have ever undergone. You have to be on some form of drug to fully appreciate this movie, being as it was designed to be watched whilst tripping. The animation is splendid, the music fits extremely well and the whole movie has an extreme inner message which can only be figured out with intense consideration and thought. The entire film is an hour and a half of batshit tripping. Harnassing inventive film techniques, fantastic screen fades and mind blowing camera angles, the blend of live action and animation works perfectly as we dwell into the mind of hardcore rocker 'Pink' (Bob Geldof) and see how he is fastly becoming insane. We ended up sitting right through to the end of the credits, eyes pinned to the screen out of general fear. The screen went blank and the room stayed quiet for a good few minutes before somebody finnally burst out with 'What??'. I completely recommend that you watch this film as soon as possible, i also recommend that you get a little high (just to fully enjoy it).
Here are some clips from the movie.

I hope you like it as much as i did.
I've seen this. It's awesome.
I bet that there are a few health warnings on the back of that DVD case :V
Anyway, sounds like you had a great time. I shall now watch the clips.
EDIT:
The start of the first one was far out. The rest was sort of tame though.
I love Pink Floyd but I didn't see this movie as anything more than a ninety minute long music video.
Best Album Ever.
The lack of "Hey you" made me a bit sad though.
Holy shit, I have that picture on my wall !
I remember this.
Comfortably Numb sequence was the most terrifying I've ever experienced in any movie.
This was a pretty freaky movie, I loved it. So what if its a 90 minute music video, what else can you expect?
I especially love the animation for The Trial, and actually all the animation is great
I've got this movie on dvd. It's seriously awesome.
I seriously wish someone would remaster this for Blu-Ray and release the version of Outside the Wall from it. The bit in the asylum was quite freaky - and literally shocking - considering the rest of the movie.
Also, the "hammers-in-a-cross" thing appears everywhere if you look.
Oh, yeah, and the Run Like Hell scene was pretty awesome.
Movie is garbage, the music is awesome though.
The movie isn't garbage :argh:

Oh, that's where the chorus for this song came from...

:v:
My god I fucking love this movie. I watched it last night and then listened to the whole album. If you haven't seen this movie, watch it now. Oh, and right when I opened facepunch I had "Waiting for the Worms" stuck in my head.
I've seen parts of it, and I've listened to the album several times from beginning to end.
"To smash in their windows and kick in their doors!"
I love this movie.
Best part is In The Flesh!
Him standing on the stage and the ofcourse Run Like Hell, amazing part, bit short, album version was what, like 7 minutes!
Music section?
Goodbye Blue Sky animation is fucking crazy.
I have it on DVD.
I highly recommend you get high first on your drug of choice and watch it though. It makes it a lot more awesome.

EDIT: Actually, don't get high off something that is more likely to give you a bad trip as this movie might cause brain damage.
Just stick with weed. Lots and lots of weed.

Watching this film while actually tripping is one of the most terrifying experiences you could possibly go through. Really not a good idea. Just get stoned and watch it.
And yeah it's amazing, some absolutley class animation.
One of my favourite movies. It's strange that Hey You never made it into the film.
It's amazing.
And no, contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be fucking stoned to "fully appreciate" it.
Nice live rendition of Comfortably Numb, 1994.

One of the movie theater's here played The Wall on Friday night.
Seeing it on the big screen is one hell of an experience.
yeah movie was awesome, my friend that i showed it to didn't like it though.
the run like hell scene is probably my favorite
Pink Floyd is the British equivalent of The Doors.
I love both bands with a fiery passion. And the movies were spectacular. Even though I really do not know what The Wall is about.
And I gotta say. Comfortably Numb is amazing.
And so are the albums. Although I prefer the live version 'Is There Anybody Out There'. Has a better sound in my opinion. Plus it has What Shall We Do.
The first time I watched this I was on shrooms. It was a great movie and still is.
