Just when you thought this might calm down now.
Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko said the Ukrainian authorities did not even think about truce.
“I believe that if the shelling of Donetsk continues and if the Ukrainian authorities talk about the truce, they lie,” Zakharchenko told TASS on Monday.
“Today the shelling has shaken the city. I believe that everybody felt it. Casualties are now being specified. The data will be available in three hours,” he said.
I was strugling with idea to get thread asap but at moment there was absolutely no coverage except for photos from social networks. And even now there is only few vids that specify that initial explosion happened after rocket (might be Tochka U) hit chemical plant.
Explosion's blast wave was devastating enought to hit even stadium in city.

TL:DR some shitheads from ukranian army or paramilitary tryhard to revoke war and might be succesful.
Now here is a little of personal from me -
i was chatting with fellow girl when she was in University at Donetsk when this happened, thye fleed to bomb shelter since entire building started shaking. She's safe now but she recalls bombing lasting for next hour after first blastwave. I am sad understanding that just when she was getting on with calm life suddenly war has to comeback, expecially since she had to spend four months in Mariupol prior, wich was not plausible.
Hang on world, we're going for another goddamn ride
The truce has been paper-thin for over a month now anyway.

Indeed but those were small groups of idiots from both sides exchanging artillery fire and local shoot outs. This one is bigger and indicates that idiots on ukranian side got their hands on far more devastating weaponry and therefore even if buffer zone created, they still going to wreck shit with rockets.
Basically such behavior destroys very principe of Minks agreement - there is no point in withdraw of soldiers if you keep using rockets.

Has it been confirmed by anyone as a rocket attack yet?
Maybe I'd be more convinced if the Shelling of Mainila wasn't a thing
Titan cloud is mad

Anyone else see the face?

Some footage from the chemical plant. Obviously take everything said in the video with a massive grain of salt, but the footage is nice.
The MI Complex is swimming in cash by now.
So according to the video from the rebels themselves this place was a reprocessing center for chemicals and explosives into ammunition and other things, also stored a small but significant amount of ammunition itself.
Glad to hear that there were no human casualties, but it seems to me that if this is an intended military strike and not an accident it was a militarily viable target.
Fucking shitty to do it during a ceasefire, though.
No way that is a single rocket or mortar. That's a fucking huge explosion. That's a bomb, and I'd place my bet on a car bomb. Had it been a jet, they would have said so in the article.

It's a chemical plant. Most of that explosion is probably from the plant itself, not the rocket, though the rockets Tochka's fire are fucking massive. It would have made a decent sized explosion either way.

That's not a rocket. That's a freaking SCUD!
[editline]20th October 2014[/editline]
A rocket is an unguided explosive. They're usually pretty small.
That up there is a missile. It's got guidance, and it's huge.

Well yeah, sorry if i used wrong term in OP. Still, there is soo little coverage that speculations for real source still up and running.
Hell, there is even version of entire thing being diversion by some ukranian nationalist group placing bombs here and there, giving out their coords in social network.

Wannabe riddlers or just bullshit.
Also, foudn video of second explosion with blastwave (presumably from detonated ammunition or plant itself or whatever.)

I thought the truce ended when the separatists tried to storm the UA Airport?
Holy moly, that's really cool and really terrifying.

That is one of the most stereotypically rocket shaped rockets I've ever seen. It looks like the rockets I used to draw when I was in elementary school.
I thought the truce ended when the separatists tried to storm the UA Airport?
Not really, they were pressurising on troops that refused withdraw that was discussed previously.
If they'd pursue them afterwards then they would've broken it to the point of no return.
Otherwise local fights happen everywhere since both sides suck at control of their troops following exact orders.
Aaaaaaand here we go again
Probably shelling from Ukrainians just caused a secondary huge explosion. The area around Donetsk and the airport are pretty much de facto at war. Fighting daily, Ukrainians keep probing and shelling but rebels hold them at bay.

Wow, so like, the second it happens you're immediately jumping on the Ukrainians?
I smell bias.

Excuse me but i am not going to go "duh false flag everything", and when i mean "ukranian side" i do not mean Ukranian nation but the party at conflict or to be more specific rogue part of it refusing cease fire, soo don't try to start argument regarding that, go smell bias on RT.

Wow, now you're getting defensive for some reason.
Mate, maybe you should, you know, wait for some evidence before you go all fucking sperglord on the whole deal.

Excuse me, being the sceptic guy you are, how come you don't apply a possible false flag to this?

Not a lot of people can read russian on this forum so better translate all of it. First picture says "Ok, international terrorists, bandits and everone else who supports them -we warned you russiacists(fascist + russian = this word they used), rockets didn't explode, those were bombs, long live Ukraine" second one says "New quest for you russian terrorists: <numbers>, coords on Google Maps - if you figure it out, disarm it! <winky face>".

Johan Karlsen sounds like he wants a visit from the secret police.
And also a medal for being a complete fucking moron.

I merele posted it, that's it. Not saying anything aobut it besides initial reaction that anyone would have to post on social network.

I am not defensive, this is not even a term when you expalin position to someone trying to stretch it out. It's an explanation of my personal opinion.
And no, i did not go "all fucking sperglord", if case will proove my opinion being invalid i will change my opinion, no trouble with that. But for now you have chem plant with amunition storage being blowed up in rebel territory that tries to settle down from war soo it's not contributing to them from my perspective.

Yeah, sorry, should've provide context translation.
Wow, so like, the second it happens you're immediately jumping on the Ukrainians?

Donetsk is inside pro-russian territory, so it's pretty unlikely that they bombed themselves. It might just be stored munitions blowing up, but come on - everyone is making assumptions all the time on either side.
That is far from the most biased thing Karimatrix has posted.
Frankly I think assuming anything at this point is pretty fucking stupid, considering it's a chemical plant meets ammo dump.
Also whoever came up with that idea was a fucking retard.
Wow, so like, the second it happens you're immediately jumping on the Ukrainians?

Well that is the logical conclusion considered it was fired at separatist-held territory.
We can't assume the Ukrainian side and the many groups allied to it will try and be peaceful. I think in some way they might be trying to keep the war relevant so the international community does something and they don't end up losing half their country.
