We have the same thing in Taiwan too. The only bad thing about these types of garages is that there's always the danger of one of the cars combusting into flames or something, in which then all the other cars are trapped inside and the whole thing can burn down and cause a lot of damage.
Still it's a great idea. I always hate how much space parking lots take up. The logical thing for parking lots is to either build upwards or downwards so not a bunch of space is wasted.
That was cool although I wonder what will happen if your tyre's are too wide.

Except the problem here was that they didn't have lots of space to hold a regular bike parking area.
There was 3 of then (what I could see at least) each capable of holding 200 bikes each. That's 600 bikes in a small area. A regular bike parking area capable of holding 600 bikes would have to be huge. Especially if you account for all the idiots that can't park their bikes properly.
Cant we have this everywhere? I'm dead sick of morons pushing my bike over, removing the seat and deflating my wheels :(
