okay, here's the story,
my friend and I always play music, he is a drummer and I'm a guitarist. A few months ago we used to be really loud and intense, and so the neighbors and management complained, we told them to fuck themselves and continued playing. The management then sent my friend a letter that said that they would evict him if we continue to play, so we stopped.
Now its about 6-8 months later and we started up again, but this time he uses brushes and puts 2 pillows in the bass drum in order to limit the noise, and I turn my amplifier down. We have some really good stuff, we are playing different styles and some more mellow shit.
Today the management comes up and tells us to stop, and that the whole floor complained, that is obvious bullshit because its a Friday morning in NY, and normal people should be at work.
The problem is that if we play in my friends place, he will get evicted.
What are our options? we want to continue playing, even put a band together, but we don't have a place to jam.
here's the thing, we don't want to spend loads of money for an electric drum set, or something like that,
and how much would a storage room or something like that cost?
There is nowhere else where you can practice?
Get a djembe and an acoustic guitar, and jam in the back of a pickup truck.
Problem solved.
Get an electric drumset and feed your amp into headphones. Make literally no noise other than what has to be made. The thing about management and other tenants is that they dont give a fuck about you, So unless you have a another friend who lives in the country or something you're screwed.
Rent a storage room or something.
Practically right next to my house is an empty warehouse full of soundproof shit.
