This is my fear every time I ride my bike.
What a tosser. Why didn't he just wait?
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
Don't even start.
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
You notice the bike lane markings on the road? Yea. He was precisely where the law says he should be. And I noticed he had to swerve over to the side because of obstructions such as that one van who was sticking his nose out for no reason other than he's in a hurry to go no where so that extra 10 inches will really help.
Had a big ass Landrover give me a left hook couple weeks back, almost slid under the cars rear wheels and the guy tried to drive off. Ended up throwing myself and my bike infront of the car to stop him, he apologized and offered to pay for damage. Some other woman ran me off a road by taking the inside of a corner head-on, followed her for a km or 2 until she stopped, she got out yelling how she didn't saw me and claimed I had no lights.. proceeded to shine my 70 lumen light in her face and pointing to her missing rear-view mirror. Biking is pretty safe over here in Holland but there's still risks, can't imagine how scary cycling would be in the UK from the video's of cyclists getting hit. These people won't realise how important following road rules are until they hit or kill someone. /rant
He wasn't even suprised or scared,he was just mad OH FUCK OFF
He wasn't even suprised or scared,he was just mad OH FUCK OFF
And then he crashes, his bike gets totaled yet he just somehow manages to land on his feet and walk a few steps. Pretty badass. [editline]25th July 2014[/editline] Also nice to see how the lady immediately gave him attention.
Luckily he didn't look that hurt, just a bit shocked that bike looked like it got fired up into the air though like it was a game glitching :v:
At least he has it on video, and he has a clear picture of the license plate of the person that tried to fucking run him over. I don't think people realize that a fit person on a good bike can be travelling at 30mph average.
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
Where the hell else is it supposed to be. A road is the literally the best and safest place for a bike to be, you just gotta educate people to knowing to look out for bikes and to treat them the same as you would any other vehicle.
road bikes can get pretty pricey too, My friend's road bike is in the 3.5 - 4k range. I'm glad to see him not injured but that looks like a pretty expensive road bike

Short sighted road design and planning. Add to that the growing number of american style pick ups that are clogging our roads and it just gets worse. I use to bike alot but simply put our roads aint wide enough. that all said, the driver here is a twat no defence for it.
The cyclist's reaction was glorious
It's common sense to allow extra time for approaching cyclists when turning into a junction, what a bloody tool. The bloke's reaction is great though, it's almost as though he'd expected it or experienced it before.

As someone who cycles primarily, I can say that most cyclists expect these sort of things to happen. It's really shocking how little people know in regards to being safe near cyclists.
I once been hit by a car twice in a year while riding a bike both times I was unscathed, my bicycle was fine and I did more damage to the car than it did to me so I think I came off lucky
Back when I was just learning how to drive, I almost struck (and almost seriously injured) this guy on a motorcycle because the guy behind me was on my tail honking like a jerk. The guy on the motorcycle did not have any kind words for me, and I don't blame him.
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
Should be on side walk right? LETS RIDE INTO PEOPLE WOO. No.
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
hey fuck you
The best way to insure that cyclists are as visible as any other vehicle is to cover them in tiny lights. I want to see it.
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
it's illegal to do that in the UK
Even if it's legal and there's markings, riding a bike on the road or highway is still stupid. You're too small and there's too many people in their own little world when they get in their car So far about 11 regular bike riders where I live have been killed

As a motorcyclist, I think road cyclists are insane
A bike shouldn't be on a road in the first place
saying something ludicrously retarded and then exiting the thread before people can point out how stupid you sound nice, i wish every poster was like you

They need to be educated, bikers shouldn't be scared to go out.
Maybe if he didn't drive on the wrong side of the road things might have been better.
Maybe if he didn't drive on the wrong side of the road things might have been better.
As long as you're in a bike lane it's not really an issue. If he was riding the other direction he would have just hit the car in a different way.
