• Students sue Oregon School District for breach of contract
OREGON, OH (WTOL) - Several students of a green technology training program at the Oregon Career and Technology Center say the program fell way short of its promises and have filed a lawsuit against Oregon City Schools to recover losses. Student Dawn Weinbrecht says the building was far from an ideal setting in which to receive training on solar panel installation and wind technology. But she says it was the classes that disappointed her the most, including the fact that the teachers couldn't get the basic materials to teach. "They didn't have the equipment for the solar installation that we were supposed to learn until the beginning of this month, January," said Weinbrecht. "The course was supposed to end December 12." She and 11 other of the 24 students in the class have teamed up with a Perrysburg law firm and filed a lawsuit in Lucas County Common Pleas Court. They're suing the Oregon City Schools for breach of contract, negligence and fraud. They had used stimulus funds to pay for the course and are seeking monetary damages. "Yes, hopefully we can help out our clients in the best way possible," said attorney Joanna Orth. Oregon Schools Superintendent Mike Zalar said the green energy program is new and that "it is unfortunate that our effort to provide training in this cutting edge industry was not deemed acceptable by some students." While the district has attempted to address complaints brought forth by these individuals, it has received notice of the lawsuit. Zalar said he could not comment further due to legal concerns.
Source: http://www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=11813403
At first I thought it meant the entire state of Oregon.
At first I thought it meant the entire state of Oregon.
Yeah, I edited the title so it's less confusing.
I want to sue Oregon, it sucks here.
The whole of Oregon?
I want to sue Oregon, it sucks here.
It's always wet :frown:
It's always wet :frown:
:smug::fh:
It's always wet :frown:
I come from Eastern Washington where it's desert and sunny 24/7 and just recently moved to Western Washington where it's raining 24/7. I liked it for the first week but now I kind of miss the sun =/
Well besides that place it's mostly wet. I've been there it's pretty odd having such a hot and dry place in a wet state.
I've learned to appreciate Oregon. It's an acquired taste.
There must be some way we can relate this to meth......I mean c'mon, it's fucking Oregon!:v:
So far this entire thread is about how people feel about Oregon's climate and weather... I guess these are valid responses.
So far this entire thread is about how people feel about Oregon's climate and weather... I guess these are valid responses.
Well obviously no one cares about the schools.
Complaining about the weather and methheads are the only things Oregonians do besides smoking weed and chopping down trees. Sometimes we like to mix things up and do all 4 at the same time. Although I've only heard of that happening in Philomath.

Sue the school district so they can afford more solar panels thus being able to provide the materials for future classes. Oh, wait-
Western Oregon is wet, Eastern Oregon is dry, both suck. I'm moving to motherfucking Canada.
I want to sue Oregon, it sucks here.
I highly disagree. Despite popular belief that Oregon is a "rainy forest state," I, as an environmental scientist, would have to say that Oregon is an "everything state." If you'll take a look at these graphs, you can see that despite the heavy rainfall, this is primarily only on the western half of the state, which makes sense, because it just so happens that the western half of Oregon is next to an ocean. However, moving over to the eastern half, Oregon is largely plain/plain-desert. Oregon is host to a variety of ecosystems, including lakes, rivers, plains, deserts, mountains, valleys, and the ocean. It gets very warm in the summer and very cold in the winter. Moreover, Oregon citizens are so damn whiny. When it is hot, they wish for the sun to go away. When snow falls, they wish the opposite. So I say choose a side; Whether you like a versatile environment such as that of Oregon, a boring and hot environment such as Arizona, or an equally boring but extremely cold environment such as that of Alaska. Thank you, and good day, sir.
Oregon doesn't get sun anyways. [editline]09:25PM[/editline]
I highly disagree. Just like that. EDIT: Oh, and without the shitty drivers of Washington and NorCal.

Washington is best. We have the biggest building in the world and other awesome high technology industries. But this is getting WAY off topic
Washington is best. We have the biggest building in the world and other awesome high technology industries. I live about 10 miles from it, it's massive, and it's made of wood.

Well my city use to own it before we gave it to Oregon. The dome is still there... Spruce Goose however, is not. :sigh:
Eastern Oregon is Dry because of the mountain range near the west side that receives most of the rain from the ocean, and the rain clouds can't travel far enough to get to the east. [editline]09:50PM[/editline] Oregon has some pretty bad drivers. [editline]09:50PM[/editline] There's more rednecks than you think there is. [editline]09:51PM[/editline] There's some pretty bad Ice Storms too.
Oregon doesn't get sun anyways. [editline]09:25PM[/editline] Oregon is like a shitty, second rate, version of Northern California.
You clearly don't live in Northern California. Northern California is a shitty second rate version of Oregon.
You clearly don't live in Northern California. Northern California is a shitty second rate version of Oregon.
I never said Northern California was good... But I've been to Northern California and I've been to Oregon. Northern California is better.

You two can squabble about Oregon and N. Cali But the real action is in southern California
