Moreover, in view of the large and significant cross-version differences, it is concluded that formal assessment of the accuracy of FreeSurfer is desirable.

This isn't news at all. It's just a recommendation for researchers to not update FreeSurfer / switch between PC and Mac workstations while they're conducting a study. Bravo, shian.

not even that, its saying that freesurfer is shit in the accuracy department, if its changing that much across versions, or even just across OSes, it means that its useless in any situation because they cant know if the data collected is accurate or not
