• Zombie Bullets in high demand after zombie attacks
Worried about a zombie attack? Buy zombie bullets. Talk about zombies and a possible zombie apocalypse has increased due to recent gory accounts of drug-induced, flesh-eating attacks in the news. Stores across the U.S., including in Metro Detroit, are getting in on the undead action by selling Zombie Bullets, made by Hornady Manufacturing. In promoting the product on their website, Hornady suggests, “Be PREPARED – supply yourself for the Zombie Apocalypse with Zombie Max ammunition from Hornady! Loaded with PROVEN Z-Max bullets… MAKE DEAD PERMANENT!” So, will this ammunition actually defend against the things that go bump in the night? WWJ Newsradio 950′s Zahra Huber spoke with company spokesman, Everett Deger, who said, while the bullets are real, they’re only meant to be used on targets and not on people (or zombies). Zombie Bullets In High Demand Following Flesh Eating Attacks Deger said company president Steve Hornady came up with the idea for Zombie Max bullets because of his love for zombie movies and shows. “After it gained some acceptance among some of us here in the company got on board with the idea we decided just to have some fun with a marketing plan that would allow us to create some ammunition designed for that … fictional world,” Deger said. He said the Zombie Max and Z-Max bullets are Horady’s most successful products. “This is probably one of the only (product) launches that we’ve seen when people who are not in the hunting and shooting industry will go out and they will purchase this,” Deger said. “I mean, I’ve heard of guys who buy it just because they think the packaging is cool and they set it on their cube and they don’t even own a gun,” he said. ”It has that sort of cross-market appeal, which I think is rare to find these days, where you can actually sell something that will transcend not just one market but go into several."
Source: http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2012/06/07/zombie-bullets-in-high-demand-following-flesh-eating-attacks/ Getcha dosh n blammo.
Good for Hornady Manufacturing, ripping off retards is easy but effective.
What is this shit. The .45 ACP is only 185 grain? Pffft it is 230 grain or go home with .45 ACP. Erhm, I mean neat product!
I'm worried that there are actually people out there that think Hornady has designed a bullet that is optimal for killing zombies.
Might as well just sell re-labelled hollowpoints, really.
Stores across the U.S., including in Metro Detroit, are getting in on the undead action by selling Zombie Bullets, made by Hornady Manufacturing.
And you can also use them to fend off those pesky burglars, muggers, and rapists that stalk the city's abandoned buildings and forsaken ruins! Awesome!
Bullets that died and came back as zombie brass? This sounds like irl DLC for guns.
im fine with my katana
Pfft what you need is a couple hundred rounds of these bad boys. A double tap in just one shot.
I am fed up with this incessant zombie bullshit.
Well, good for Hornady. I was at Cabella's the other day and saw some of these 'Z-Max' .223 rounds, they were five bucks more than standard Hornady. I could blow a paycheck on a few boxes of standard Hornady .223, so I think I'll pass on the z-max.
I'd buy one just so I can have it on my desk. Probably give away the bullets to my hunting friends because I don't even own a gun.
Might as well just sell re-labelled hollowpoints, really.
They are. They appear to be their V-Max series hollow points with polymer inserts with a color shift of the plastic insert.
Many retards wander this earth.
I am fed up with this incessant zombie bullshit.
There really is a plague of brainless husks roaming around now a days.
“I mean, I’ve heard of guys who buy it just because they think the packaging is cool and they set it on their cube and they don’t even own a gun”
This explains all the random ammo drops in offices and such in vidya.
There really is a plague of brainless husks roaming around now a days.
The irony here is that the idiots that buy these things are more zombified than the undead they are planning on fighting.
Just buy some fucking hollow points if you want to do some damage.
Aww, they aren't incendiary bullets like in WWZ...
The irony here is that the idiots that buy these things are more zombified than the undead they are planning on fighting.
Also, they'll have such low brain mass and activity that the zombies will never know the difference between their own and the zombie hunters.
This is a novelty item right? They're not marketing this as actual "zombie repellant" bulets?
This is a perfect example of a broken fucking media system. This shit happens all the time but when one reported case gets a lot of unwarranted attention, they all cash in on it.
This is a novelty item right? They're not marketing this as actual "zombie repellant" bulets?
As someone mentioned already, they are just hollow points with a different colored plastic insert and carton, I think the insert is green? Just so people know, these bullets have been available for some time now and arent a product of all these "zombie" outbreaks
They are. They appear to be their V-Max series hollow points with polymer inserts with a color shift of the plastic insert.
Actually, that is exactly what they are.
The only "zombie bullets" you need are subsonic (silenced) ones with enough penetration to puncture the skull (hollow point? I'm not much of a gun nut) Besides crossbows > guns in a zombie apocalypse anyway (assuming slow zombies because fast ones are bullshit)
Anyone else think of those "Cherry Pie" rounds described in World War Z when they initially read this? I'd imagined somebody'd tried to concoct something like that and sell it to people, or some other 'specialized bullet' snake oil horseshit.
Just so people know, these bullets have been available for some time now and arent a product of all these "zombie" outbreaks
I wonder how many people genuinely purchased these thinking they'd be more effective to defend themselves when the dead started beating on their doors.
Hornady
Why the crap did I misread that as "horny lady"? Something is wrong with my mind. Oh well, it can't be as wrong as anyone who buys these bullets from this company.
this is what they look like for people who don't shoot guns. Just a different box and insert as said before. Sadly enough people will panic buy just about anything is some media outlet tells them to.
The irony here is that the idiots that buy these things are more zombified than the undead they are planning on fighting.
If we actually get zombies... "Oh my! It appears I have been shot with overpriced ammo!"
Knowing the people here in Detroit, they're probably will buy it.
