The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved a renewed assault-weapons ban, advancing the measure to the Senate floor where it will face intense resistance from Republicans and other gun-rights supporters.

Please, Senate.
Eat a dick. No one is going to kill anyone with a M1 Carbine.
Senate Judiciary Committee.
I'm really upset with how cowards like this can get anywhere near places of power.
We all know it's not going anywhere in the Senate, not while the Republicans have more than 40 votes.

I doubt democrats would vote for it as well. Voting for gun control is an excellent way not to get re-elected.
Not all dems hate guns too. It won't pass.
But assault weapons aren't even used in the vast majority of crimes. Shotguns are used more. And governmental agencies after the Clinton gun ban went into effect said that it had a negligible impact on firearm crime.

Yay!
Yay!
Like the last one that totally stopped Columbine, right?
This is a step away from Terrorism America. You can finally begin to end your wars with brown people, homosexuals, and child murderers.
For someone to support this they'd have to be so astronomically fucking ignorant it wouldn't even make sense.

"we don't need your fancy 'statistics' and 'facts' when we can just railroad whatever the fuck we want directly into the people's collective rectum! choo choo motherfuckers"
-actual quote from an actual senator

The implication from the site is that it's an unbiased source of information, when it actually leans too far in one direction to be considered unbiased.
For instance, blaming Al Gore losing the election in 2000 on the AWB is a pretty obvious one.

Note how it says "Other Democrats have stated that the AWB may have cost Al Gore the 2000 presidential election."

It has links to websites like the FBI where it sources it's information from.

So the FBI keeps stats on Democrats blaming the AWB for losing the election?

Have you read any of his other debate posts?
Banning assault weapons would be like banning swords because somebody got stabbed to death with a hunting knife.
For once I'm rather glad of the GOP clusterfuck in Congress. For all the hell it causes, this one time, it will actually do some good for once.
I doubt democrats would vote for it as well. Voting for gun control is an excellent way not to get re-elected.
And somehow Feinstein has proposed three such bans and is still in office. But in general you're right, for the most part supporting one of these bans is political suicide unless your entire political career revolves around pushing them.
a step in the right direction of banning all guns.
