75-year-old pensioner takes on armed robbers with handbag
The robbery was - initially - no less successful for being brutally basic: three men with sledgehammers simply smashed the windows of the jewellery shop in the broad light of day, and grabbed the loot.
As they filled their bags with gold from the Michael Jones Jewellers in Northampton, their accomplices waited, revving their getaway mopeds. Staff at the Northampton shop froze in horror and members of the public walked on by.
But then, the cavalry arrived, in the shape of a woman in a red coat, matching hat and sensible shoes - handbag flailing.
In a film that instantly became a viral internet clip, the elderly-looking woman is shown charging towards the armed robbers. The thugs - twice her size - didn't stand a chance.
A swing at the head of one of the moped drivers saw him accelerate down the street in alarm, leaving his accomplice without his ride.
Four of the six men are now in custody, police confirmed, and the mystery hero of Northampton will be rewarded.
"Clearly we will recognise her for her bravery," said Inspector Peter Chisholm, of Northampton police. "She stayed at the scene and the arresting officers took her details.
"We won't be releasing her name though. There might be more members of the gang out there and we wouldn't want to put her in any danger," he added.
Worst robbers ever?
Thats whats wrong with humans, not enough of these badasses.
Its one of those things people have where its "I wont step in because no one else will"
I mean if everyone was like her they could of taken them all in.
Go grandma go! :v:
And it's quite obvious they didn't want to hurt anyone as they didn't attack the old woman back.
I love how one of those brain-dead chavs fell.

Bystander effect.
The crowd should've just rushed the robbers
Was the white truck attempting to run them down.
That was my wife.
:unsmigghh:
This is incredible, I wish more people had balls like her.
I wish more people acted like this in these kinds of situations. Like when a plane gets hijacked, the hijackers are outnumbered like 50 to 1, if people weren't so selfish they could easily overcome them and retake the plane.
Haha, that was great. That woman has to have balls of steel, she didn't even know if the burglars were going to harm her or not, and yet she still charged them down. Props to her.

She probably figured that they wouldn't hurt a little old lady. Armed robbery brings a long sentence, and harming someone in the process would make it a lot worse.
Notice how when the woman attacks them, everyone suddenly thinks "hmm maybe I should Help".
I wish more women had balls like that.
Wait what?
they could have taken her down but they didn't because she reminded them of their grandmother and how pissed she would be if they found out?
