Isn't that guy in the hat the dude from District 9?
Neat idea though, I hope the whole film doesn't feel like a video game tutorial like this kinda did
Yeah it would be a shame for a novel idea to have a crap storyline
british guy with a pssh
pls no
also is that stalker voice sounds?
plus the ak he picks up at 2:26 changes to another different ak at 2:34
sweet captain price's back!!
Ehhhh
The idea just screams 'film student' and has been done hundreds of times before, so its not like some revolutionary or fresh idea, it just makes for a boringly shot movie.
You need good shots to accompany good action, if the whole movie was shot like this it would get boring really quickly.
Even the first-person action sections in stuff like Act of Valor looked like a fucking CS in Real Life video, it just doesn't work.
I wish them the best of luck, but I'm seriously doubting it will be any good.

I get that they would want to do an action movie for something like this, but I want to see how they do a normal conversation scene between several people.

Peep Show does the whole first person conversation thing well, but that's because they took the perspectives of multiple people providing multiple angles and proved to be interesting.
They don't seem to be taking much consideration into how these scenes would actually look. The guy behind him at 1:54 had almost 3 seconds to react.
Seems a bit silly but it's cute enough.
I really liked the bit with the magazine.
Looks like the plot is 'trapped in a video game' which is a bit eh. If they do it in the style of Crank where it's just nonstop ridiculous action it should be a fun watch with some grog and some friends.

Here is some of his other work.
Imo a movie is nowhere near as good to watch without good coordinated screenplay and camera trickery. The FOV on the camera and the bobbing up and down make it sort of unpleasant to watch.
This idea is not that appealing to me. I mean, the first person thing would be an amazing battlefield scene, but im not watching a whole movie like this. I just know i wont like it.
Not to say POV movies can't be good, i've seen "Enter the void", but that was more like POV of a soul.
Doom movie did it better.
why is it a fish eye lens. I dont see like that.

You're kidding right? You're talking about the one that was released in 2005? The one that looked terrible and had bad cgi? Don't be ridiculous.
the idea of something like this is cool for a 4 - 5 minute youtube video at most but I really can't see how they're planning on making a feature length film like this

I don't think this is going to be, or is aiming to be a masterpiece film, just a badass action flick.
Like I said before, if they make it like Crank, where it's just trying to do one thing, it'll be plenty of fun.
The only way i can see this movie being good is with ALOT of real stunts and freerunning.

I think he's being sarcastic.
He carried a lot of grenades.

Even Crank had more going for it than this did
It takes more than a big bodycount to make an action movie good. The lack of tension, the amount of grenades and the amount of times the main character slid into shooting someone tells me they prrrobably don't have a good action choreographer, or anything like that

No wonder it looked familiar.
There needs to be more variation in the action, tbh. Just watching him slide around shooting people and throwing grenades for 90 minutes sounds like it'd get boring after a while. Obviously with a budget that they hope to get with the indiegogo they'd be more capable, but the limitations from the camera still restrict from some of the more awesome action setpieces that great action movies have.
why is it a fish eye lens. I dont see like that.
to get what they wanted in frame I guess.

You don't see like a traditional camera either but I guess you wouldn't complain about that would you.
This is just like those early CD-ROM FMV games.
Doom movie did it better.
Too bad Doom was just a universally bad movie

this music video using first-person action was more interesting than the OP's video was

also i'd say the first-person horror movie Maniac was pretty action filled too. and a freaking amazing film at that
iirc, the movie V/H/S 2 was in first person and it did it quite well
