Around a month ago, I started feeling the urge to create music. I decided it would be a grand idea, and began fiddling around with Fruity Loops studio. From that day to the present, I've completed two tracks. Unfortunately, I don't even know what music category they would fall into (I am derp, I know.) Anyways, here they are:

and

I enjoy making these, and I would like to get better at production. I will check back every so often to see what you think I should improve on, and will attempt to do so.
Thanks in advance
Don't really know if I'm allowed to self-bump this, or even if this thread is considered "dead."
Anyway, I uploaded a new track. I would seriously like some thoughts on these, even if they're "Really shitty." I need to know how I can improve, and what you'd like to see in the future.

I'm an amateur myself, but no one's responding to you so I'll say what I noticed.
Temple of Despair didn't have a good melody, and the synth didn't really match up with the rhythm. The drum beat lacks hi hats, and isn't very good. It's kind of random. I think at times two kicks overlap or something. There's different velocities for each one. I think you are pitching your kicks differently. It's really hard to listen to the whole thing, its a kick and snare that are badly sequenced and then for some time there's a synth that doesn't have a melody.
Cats and hats is a HUGE improvement, the hats are so refreshing. There's still not a strong melody though, I think the bass only goes into two notes. The kick and the bass are too close. There needs to be more layers. There's no highs or mid synths, it's very empty up there.
Invisible tape, finally a synth, and a melody (Although it could really use some work). The kick is weird, I can't hear it very well. You're drums could be better mixed. Edit: Btw, it's not dubstep. It's closer to House because of the 4/4 130 bpm. Dubstep is 140 with halftime or two step and heavy sub bass.

Thanks, it's good to have someone explain what I'm doing wrong. As for the House-genre, I really have no idea what the difference is between the two. Could you elaborate a bit more on the subject, or link me to someplace that explains it? I'll take what you said into mind next time I get into the mood to make something. Thanks.
http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/ I like this neat thing. (Use wikipedia actually) This doesn't have dubstep, but 2step Garage is basically dubstep. You should start out thinking of a nice melody and putting it in the sequencer.
