• What car should my mom buy?

Well, my mom is looking to get rid of her 2008 Toyota Tacoma. It's too small and hard for her to see out of. She has narrowed down her search for a new car to either the Ford Fiesta, VW Jetta, or the Subaru Forester. Please don't try to suggest any other cars, she has already looked extensively and those look like the only cars with a reasonable price, great reliability, and good visibility. Which one would you guys recommend? I am leaning toward the Subaru Forester (Since she owned a Subaru before) but my mom didn't exactly like her old one.

Does she really need an SUV? It's worth considering the difference in gas mileage.
Lotus Elise or Honda S2000. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] How is a Tacoma too small?
The cabin is fucking tiny. Also, please be realistic.
vw jetta
Go for the Fiesta, based on cost and gas mileage. VWs/Audis have horrible reliability - expect to be fixing a lot of obscure and expensive parts.
Fiesta. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] The new 2011 Jetta is actually pretty cheap. The cut in cost comes from the 120hp engine and the lower quality interior materials for the most part. But I'd say Fiesta.
Subaru Forester. IIRC they are making some big changes to the motor, like getting rid of timing belts and going to chains.
fiesta
Subaru Forester.
Forester.

[QUOTE=JDK721;27471350][citation needed][/QUOTE] I guess it's just anecdotal from people I know who have them, but they have lots of little niggles that don't get sorted out easily.
subaru outback
i'd not get a subaru and stick with the fiesta sure, subarus might be more fun and awd, but they also have worse gas mileage and are more expensive to insure and buy his mom doesn't need a super-fun car, so a fiesta should do her fine
Fiesta
I change my mind, she should get a golf

Why all the hate for the Jetta? My mom is actually leaning toward that car, (probably because it looks conservative and has good viewing angles). Is there anything I should know about it? I know that it may have hard interior plastics (she doesn't care), and it may not be as good quality as the 2010, but what else?
