Self-explanatory. Wanted to post in the new section, so I decided to make a thread about the music I like to write. As I am a man of a few words, here are some songs: Divine Blasphemy (7:11) A cliche named, 3 movement song. Forbidden (6:07) A rather sinister sounding song. My favorite. Echoes At The Mountains Of Madness (4:30) One of my more prog inspired songs. Named after Lovecraft's story and Pink Floyd's song. The Sands Of Sacrifice (3:17) An 'intro'-ish song. Faster than most of my songs. The Iron Curtain (4:34) Built from the movement from my song 'The Fall Of Man'. For some reason the most popular, too. The Fall Of Man (10:33) My first and also longest song. Lots of movements here. Feel free to check out the rest of my soundcloud account and comment on the songs. Update #1: New song! The Cold Star (3:54) A sci-fi themed song with very fast riffs.
Fall of Man sounds a bit Dream Theater inspired. Why not record with a real guitar?
Fall of Man sounds a bit Dream Theater inspired. Why not record with a real guitar?
Because I lack the skill and the equipment. Also, I am a fan of Dream Theater, so its very likely some songs can sound like theirs.
Buying equipment is just a question of money, learning guitar is just a question of time. For the sake of boredom I'll tab out The Fall of Man when I get my real amp home. Which is due in 3 weeks......
What kind of software do you use?
Because I lack the skill and the equipment. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] polaris sound good.

Do you know any good software to make Techno?
heh, as soon as i heard the 35 drum note kicking in i knew it was GP5. those are pretty damn cool, specially because they're actual songs.
heh, as soon as i heard the 35 drum note kicking in i knew it was GP5. those are pretty damn cool, specially because they're actual songs.
I've only used 35 once in all my songs. 36 all the way. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
Do you know any good software to make Techno?
Try FL Studio
I've only used 35 once in all my songs. 36 all the way.
haha i prefer 35, i also like 40 instead of 38.
haha i prefer 35, i also like 40 instead of 38.
36 and 40 all the way
Protip: Use both 35 + 36 on top of eachother for that fat bass/kick sound!
I might be missing the point here but have you considered running your songs through a good software synthesizer to make them sound less Win95?
I might be missing the point here but have you considered running your songs through a good software synthesizer to make them sound less Win95?
I have, but alot of the stuff I have tried makes everything sound too... un-clear. I prefer the MIDI sound, because its more clear and the instruments and notes are easy to hear.
I prefer the MIDI sound, because its more clear and the instruments and notes are easy to hear.
But it still sounds like shit (tone wise, the songs are awesome :v:). You should try to get someone to record these for you.
But it still sounds like shit (tone wise, the songs are awesome :v:). You should try to get someone to record these for you.
Like I said, I would love that, but nobody would want to.
Like I said, I would love that, but nobody would want to.
I might want to do some actually. Adding you on steam :buddy:
I might want to do some actually. Adding you on steam :buddy:
I'd very much like that.
Like I said, I would love that, but nobody would want to.
I could run it through some Synths if you like.
I could run it through some Synths if you like.
I would like that, yeah.
I would like that, yeah.
Care to upload your MIDI files?
Care to upload your MIDI files?
Which ones do you want?
Which ones do you want?
I personally like Divine Blasphemy and Iron Curtain most. Guess we could start with that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: MIDI music is awesome. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] Forbidden is really cool. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] The Iron Curtain is also awesome.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10823940/Black%20Sea.mid Here's a metal song I'm working on.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10823940/Black%20Sea.mid Here's a metal song I'm working on.
Nice, it reminds me of battle music from those old RPG games.
Make me a MIDIgrind song, and I will love you forever. Here's a kind of shitty example because it has vocals, terrible ones at that. I couldn't find any instrumental HKSC songs, so try to ignore the vocals and listen to the ~awesome~ instrumentals: 120% Says You're Going To Die is tons better because it has better vocals, but I can't find them on youtube :v:
