Due to popular demand and the passionate support of our wall comments, we're thrilled to announce that Pepsi Throwback is here to stay! Throwback fans… your prayers have finally been answered (except for that awkward one you made back in high school)!
I followed up with Pepsi later in the day to confirm that Mountain Dew Throwback would also be part of this change. It's been a long road since we first talked about this back in February 2009, but it looks like Throwback is finally here to stay! Great job in voicing your opinion, everyone!
yesssssss
Huzzah!
Sweet.
Sweet, now I can stop using my time machine to go back and get them
Awesome! The throwbacks taste better anyway.
I don't drink soda. I have never drunk a full can or bottle or glass of soda in my life.
Yes GOD I love the throwback stuff!
I don't drink soda. I have never drunk a full can or bottle or glass of soda in my life.
well good for you?
I’ve been drinking Mountain Dew Throwback, because I want to believe it’s better. But, to be honest, I can’t tell much difference… It might be a little smoother, somewhat less harsh, but that could also be happening inside my head only. I don’t know. My afterburps even taste the same. Can you tell the difference? Everybody says they can, but I’m skeptical. I took an informal break room poll last night at work, and one guy said it’s much sweeter than regular Dew, and someone else said it’s less sweet. I’m starting to suspect there might be a bit of bullshit at play here. I have yet to find a single person who will admit they can’t taste the difference. And what’s the deal with that? I can’t be the only one, can I? Are people afraid they’ll be labeled as unrefined and unsophisticated, if they can’t, you know, recognize the subtle shadings and hues in a bottle of… Mountain Dew?
this blogger wrote it better than i could
Good, this is the only way either of them taste anything like good.
Looks like they made a very, very wise move on their part. I am also happy for some (*more) good news finally, this week has been pretty rough in the news section, full of drama and suspense. Give OP some gold, thus sending Pepsi gold.
Great, more sugar! Just what Americans need!
Hell yes.
I don't drink soda. I have never drunk a full can or bottle or glass of soda in my life.
You haven't lived. I wanna drink this, too bad Australians don't have any flavours except the most boring ones.
Great, more sugar! Just what Americans need!
better than drinking corn syrup
this blogger wrote it better than i could
It makes sense that it's sweeter and less sweet at the same time. Sugar has it's own kind of sweetness that is different than corn syrup. Corn syrup is artificially sweet, and sugar is natural. I don't think sugar is over the top sweet, like corn syrup is.
taste almost identical IMO.
You haven't lived. I wanna drink this, too bad Australians don't have any flavours except the most boring ones.
Why not? Are all the other ones banned?
I thought the throwback Mtn Dew was shit to be honest.
I don't drink soda. I have never drunk a full can or bottle or glass of soda in my life.
Why
I still wish they would bring back other flavors, like Mountain Dew Pitch Black :smith:
I cant taste the difference in throwback Dew, but theres definitely a change in taste for throwback Pepsi. Loves me some throwback Pepsi.
THEY DO THIS FOR PEPSl BUT NOT DR PEPPER ARE YOU SHITTING ME ARE YOU SHITTING ME IM GOING TO GO HANG MYSELF. DAMMIT.
Why not? Are all the other ones banned?
I actually asked this too Pepsi Co support... Their response was the following mainly, "As of now people can request their local factories to make the drink, but exporting from America would be too costly." In otherwords... Your drinks are made locally, ask the nearby factories to begin producing them, and they might with enough request.
Next step, bring back Crystal Pepsi.
Next step, bring back Crystal Pepsi.
Never tried it, but that sounds watered down for some reason. How is it?
Now Heritage Dr. Pepper needs to come back.
I didn't like the taste of throwback, but others go by it. Guess it's good for choice.
never seen that soda... what makes it so special?
I still wish they would bring back other flavors, like Mountain Dew Pitch Black :smith:
http://www.bevreview.com/2011/01/07/mountain-dew-pitch-black-is-back-by-popular-dew-mand-in-2011/ It's coming back sometime around May for a limited time.
