• Is running off of fat + sugar anywhere near effective as eating only fat and doing nothing?

In my current state, a low carb diet is out of the question. If I added a bit of sugar to something that would normally be low-carb and then run for about the time the carbs would be depleted, would that be anywhere near as good as eating the fat but doing nothing?
I'm confused. By doing nothing do you mean not exercising? My personal opinion is not not neglect any specific food group, and have a balanced diet with a lot of exercise, but I'm not even sure if that's what you are asking.
I think maybe you should rephrase what you're trying to ask
carbohydrates will always be a better energy source over fat -- you'll be able to operate without carbs but your glycogen stores will be dangerously low, so don't expect to have optimal performance. i also have no idea what you're asking :v
In regards to fat burning ability. Sorry.
Actually exercising will always beat everything else in fat burning ability.
actually homeostasis is the best in regards to burning fat, aka existing
u looking to die cheeky kent??
irrelevant As long as you are in a net energy deficit you will be losing fat.
A good amount of dietary fat is actually healthy (non saturated, so in avacodos and meat), it helps to produce testosterone, help out bodies function, and process nutrients (im a bit rusty on the subject). A ketogenic (high fat) diet is actually proven to lose weight, I have a couple of friends who have done it so I can vouch for its effectiveness. As far as fat burning goes, intense weightlifting is the way to go. Actual cardio exercises are counterintuitive for keeping muscle because as a side-effect(?) of training for it inorder to become more effective at cardio/running/jogging our bodies shed weight (fat + muscle) so that we are more efficient. That is why all the greatest runners you see are beanpoles with very little mass on their body. For intense weightlifting, you are kept at an elevated heart rate, in addition you are breaking down your muscles making it so your body has to use what nutrients and energy it has stored inorder to repair them and allow them to continue to function. With a insufficent amount of food your body must break down fat to supply your body with the energy to repair and rebuild. This will increase your bodies maitenance calories (the base calories needed to maintain your current bodyweight), should you keep the same diet then you will in theory lose weight. Broscience from myself: I think additionally because of the long-sustained heart rate during intense lifting that your body will shed fat to become more efficent at cooling, but this is purely opinion. I draw this from the fact that a lot of my body is very vascualar and caries little skin fat, just large deposits in the standard areas. Sugar is not needed at all, carbohydrates break down to sugar, dietary sugar is just for a quick fix (energy boost), addictive qualities, or personal enjoyment (food). If you want to lose weight, minimalize and cut out any/all sugar. I can support everything but the broscience part with links, it'll take a while though. Take it all with a gram of doubt because I may not recall everything 100%
