In yet another example of why you shouldn’t text and drive, an Texas college student drove off a cliff while texting.
Fortunately, he survived, but incurred some serious injuries. After six months of recovering, he’s finally able to talk about it.
Right before Chance Bothe’s truck went over a cliff, he texted, “I need to quit texting, because I could die in a car accident.”
Bothe suffered a broken neck, a crushed face, a fractured skull and traumatic brain injuries, a local news station reported. He was brought back to life three times by doctors.
Lately, texting while walking has been an increasing issue for law enforcement. Distracted walkers can cause accidents or get themselves into dangerous situations.
We told you earlier this week about a Philadelphia man being so distracted by talking on his cellphone, that he fell onto train tracks and was knocked unconscious. Luckily for him, no trains were headed to the station at that time.
Cellphone distraction also infamously caused a man to nearly walk into a brown bear and resulted in one woman’s embarrassing moment falling into a mall fountain.
Earlier this summer, we asked you if you think texting while walking should be illegal. The majority of you said no, but had strong opinions about the dangers of texting and walking.
Do you know anyone who texts while driving or walking? Tell us in the comments.[/quote]

Coincidentally, so does driving off a cliff.

Wait a second, that means he did die in a car accident, 3 times! Well fuck.
At least it was him who payed for his foolishness, not some people on a sidewalk.
"yolo" send
I absolutely hate texting drivers.
There's no reason to do it.

It is even worse than talking on the phone while driving, at least then you can still watch the road.

If I gotta contact someone in the car, I do it with voice controls (saying "call mom" for example) and I almost always use speakerphone. That way my hand is still near the steering wheel if I need to take some course of action and I still get to contact them.
I always drive by people and see them constantly switching focus from the road to their phone, and they're going 5 under the limit, swerving all throughout their lane. I don't get it.
I never understood what is so important that you feel that you need to text and drive. I doubt your conversation is so important that it requires you to risk such a dangerous thing. If you really need to talk to someone that bad then get a bluetooth handsfree device and fucking call them or just wait until you get to your destination.
There was a girl who did text about texting and driving but she died when she drove right into a tanker truck.
Texting and driving is tempting fate about as much as insulting a cartel leader to his face, when will people learn?
My girlfriend texts and drives all the time. I'm going to send this to her
He looks like a dumbo anyway, no big loss.

Nice "gain money fast" image you've got going on there, hope you end up with less money than you started with.
Texting while driving is like taking the batteries out of a fire alarm for your TV remote, you're endangering everyone around you just because you can't handle a little inconvenience. It's a massively stupid thing to do.

Could do with some sort of way to disable mobile phones when driving.

Built-in bombs that detonate when radio signals are sent. BRILLIANT!

EU make it mandatory ASAP

Seeing as my phone is old and outdated, I just wait until I'm stopped if I have to make a call. I'll never text while driving, but if I'm at a light I'll make phone calls.
I've seen photos of people I knew in high school getting their cars absolutely wrecked because of texting. I don't get why people do it.
