No, I'm almost positive that users with 200+ hours in a game, just to have it all fucked up is, just a little (Read: A WHOLE TON) worse then this.

I would rather have a game fuck up on me from the start and get it sorted than fuck up a game that is non-linear and has endless replayability 200 hours in

Might not be the problem, but maybe cigarette smoke on the lens?
You get disc read errors for this problem with dual layered Wii discs.
It's possible.
