MOUND, Minn. (WCCO) – The section game for the Mound Westonka White Hawks hockey team fell short of expectations with a season-ending loss – due in part because the team itself was short players.

It all stems from an attempt to create a White Hawk version of the “Harlem Shake” during lunchtime
Even people outside of the internet are getting tired of it.
Dickheads, they are just having fun.
Now I hate it as much as the next guy, I never found it funny in its beginning. But the forfeit of an ENTIRE FUCKING GAME!? Thats just unfair.
Two days seems too short for the unbelievable damages they caused.
They should be given a week off to think about what they've done.
This so called "fad" is really running itself into the ground quiet fast. everyone is getting sick of it

People not enjoying a fad is hardly a reason to suspend a team or some of it's players
More on this: they said that when they got on the tables is when it got out of control. The two-day suspensions are now one day
Doing stupid shit is a good reason though

Ive tried my hardest to avoid the harlem shake.
I always learn about these fads too early, so when my less nerdy friends become obsessed with it months later, it gets really irritating, really fast.
prime example of course being gangnam style, When i find somthing pretty funny, only to become sick of seeing it over and over and over, it just makes me feel like some shitty hipster who only enjoys things before they were cool.
My highschool did that. And played it on the announcements. No one cared.

Where it it say anything about property damage?

It already ran itself into the ground on its arrival.
Great let's punish kids for having fun just because we don't like the song.
nice going

Killers also have fun when they kill someone. We shouldn't stop them just because we don't like it!
(that was exaggerated :v:)

Great let's punish people who don't read the fucking article

I read it, they cancelled the game because they got on tables(those horrible people).

If one of those kids fell and hurt themselves, that wouldn't be good for the school, eh?
There's a reason you don't see people jumping up on tables constantly
I have avoided all Harlem Shake videos
I consider myself lucky

Then tell them to get off and stop instead of forfeiting a STATE game and suspending them. Now the school looks like worse than they could.
Just saying they could've handle better then they could.
should've done it like UChicago

I still don't even know what ths is. I'm assuming it's best I don't, right?
I don't know what's worse: another stupid Facebook/Youtube meme, or another round of ignorant people grossly overreacting to it.

You seem like you would be an uptight parent.
The school probably didn't understand that the Harlem Shake involves lots of dancing/acting like chaos and that's the point. They probably thought it was something like Gangnam Style and that it'd be choreographed.

It's just some people dancing in silly costumes for a few mins.
A lot of people are whining about something they're not forced to watch. Seriously grow up you guys, you all remind of those people who watch justin beiber music videos just to complain about how they're sick of justin beiber.
pretty fair to the players the wanted to compete in the state game. I'm sure being disqualified so your teammates can wiggle on camera in an attempt for Youtube fame probably flew over pretty well with them.
