Recent election polls showing Sanders favored over Trump
Sen. Bernie Sanders runs far behind Hillary Clinton in the Democratic nomination fight, but the socialist from Vermont would defeat New York real estate mogul and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump in a presidential general election, a new poll suggests.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows that in a hypothetical general election match-up, Sanders tops Trump 44% to 39%. The data point shows that although Trump is leading the GOP pack now, he could prove to be a disaster for Republicans in a broader presidential contest next year.
Gets pretty tiring hearing about how he'd never win. Of course plenty will change by the primaries and election, but he's coming ahead with a bigger margin than Hillary currently.
Even as a republican I like some of his ideas and want him to have a fighting chance. If he ends up as the nominee for the democrats I'd vote for him.
Trump got Berned
I want trump to win the nomination cause he'll never win the election
Trump is a troll (and a bad one) and the only thing more jokeworthy is people who actually believe he knows what he's doing for a second
i really want to see trump's name go away when it comes to the presidential race. it's like a bad joke that won't stop
Clinton's probably going to win
Is trump being anywhere near being the republican candidate tho? If not this is sadly kinda irrelevant.

As smurfy's graph shows, he's been the Republican frontrunner for a while.
Fuck knows how. I've never actually met a person, even a Republican, who supports him.
Compare to the Democrat side

Never underestimate the stupid of the american public
I would favor a chimp with parkinson's over trump.
If you look at Iowa polls though, Sanders is doing significantly better while Trump is in second place behind Scott Walker

New Hampshire polls actually have Sanders pretty damn close to overtaking Clinton

Sanders is alright.
But yea they are mostly all shit.
America is going to have a few garbage years ahead of them.
I'm just scared that a lot of people are voting for Hilary because of name recognition and the fact that she's a woman.
I'm just scared that a lot of people are voting for Hilary because of name recognition and the fact that she's a woman.
Well yeah, that's pretty much the only reason to vote for her.

We just had our first black president now lets have our first woman president!!! Yayyyy!!!
Politics? whats that? We are an Innovative country!!!!
Clinton's probably going to win
God help us all if she even comes close. Bernie is divine intervention compared to her.
I really hate the Hilary shit, anyone i've talked to who said they'd vote for her is either a woman or hasn't even heard of Bernie Sanders. The discussion basically boil down to "Hilary will fight more for women's rights than a man would because she's a woman" or "Hilary might be corrupt but so is everyone else," neither of which are good arguments in any sense. I'm not saying Sanders is perfect, but I'd take him over Hilary or any current GOP candidate any day.

To add to this, if we do elect a woman president and she's garbage then we might even set back that "innovation."
In other news, actual diarrhoea favored over trump in literally anything.
Hoping for Paul or Rubio to win the Republican nomination. I don't think Bernie will win the Democratic nomination, and whoever goes up against Clinton has to be able to take her down.
Because God help us if Clinton wins. Seriously.

Can't say I'm really a fan of the idea of Paul winning either.
This election has more bad candidates than any I can remember. Just a terrible selection overall.

He's not fantastic, but even if he isn't as Libertarian as his father, he still isn't an authoritarian nut like Clinton. He's heavily anti-surveillance, anti-spending, and doesn't want to ban guns/drugs/flags.
He's better than Rubio, Clinton, and Trump- and, as much as I hate to break the circlejerk, I've never been a fan of Sanders either, although he's probably a better option than the aforementioned three. Paul gets a good deal of hate on Facepunch and I've never really understood why.

Let's ask wikipedia! Paul:
- Is dumb enough to think flat taxes are in any way a fair or good idea
- Wanted to allow states to continue banning gay marriage because states' rights>individual rights
- Voted against an act that would "prohibit discrimination in hiring and employment on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity" because it didn't give enough leeway to allow businesses to ignore it
- Wants to dismantle the Board of Education *with no real alternative
- Says that vaccination should be voluntary (!!)
- Thinks that tax deductions are a suitable replacement for any real sort of healthcare
I'm not American so I don't know who they are, but surely there's some other politician that's also anti-NSA and pro-weed that isn't this guy
I'm not American so I don't know who they are, but surely there's some other politician that's also anti-NSA and pro-weed that isn't this guy
With a chance of winning? No, not really. Also, a few corrections:
Rand Paul supports taking the government out of marriage rather than making it a hetero-only club. src
"Wants to dismantle the Board of Education" --never knew about this, but sounds absolutely fantastic! The current American education system is beyond garbage. We should be tearing down the failure that is American public schooling, and hopefully end up rebuilding it better.
Your other points are valid, but still aren't enough to make him worse than Clinton.
-snipped for space-
- He can say what he wants as an ideal solution, but he considers letting the states decide to be in any way a good way to deal with gay marriage then he's a fool.
- That isn't proposing any real reforms for education as much as just pushing the responsibility off to someone else.

Mother of God.
Look, just look at the way it skyrockets starting from March.
I've never seen something like that.
If the guy ups his Internets game and does more campaigning, I am sure he has chance, after all, I'm pretty sure his thoughts are what the low and middle class of the US have always wanted. It's just a matter of getting him to be known by the public. Any smear campaign won't work because the Internets will just shoot it down.
I'm crazy for saying this, but a guy like Sanders would totally fuck up our countries (LATAM), bah, it's not like our exports are heavily dependent on the US, but he would totally push to minimize importations from third world countries and push to export to those countries.
But I would like him to be President. He's not a prick and doesn't want the US to be "world policing" everywhere.
FUN FACT: The UE has a importation-exportation regimen that actually helps countries which are developing. FOR EXAMPLE: Paraguay has 0% tariffs for exportation in more than 20 products! Those products don't pay anything when entering the UE!
Did I say UE? Silly me, I meant, EU.
