Canadians are the most patriotic Americans on the planet.
I'm guessing standing through it during every NHL game you would pick up on the words. I only know it because I kept reading it in the back of our text book in american history class.
fuck it i'm learning oh canada now
i'm sorry canada we thought it wasn't contagious we gave you [sp]the clap[/sp]
That's impressive because none of us fucking know the words
You guys already know the words, you can join the Union now!
the first step of the assimilation
I've learnt both anthems from having season tickets to hockey games, we live ~100 miles form the border so its 50/50 American and Canadian teams. Best line in Canadian Anthem is "The True North strong and free!"
The microphone just couldn't handle her singings.
My Uni is far enough north that our ROTC guys play both anthems. I learned O-Canada through it.
In school we had to learn all 196 national anthems. Being Canadian is hard :(
That's impressive because none of us fucking know the words
it's sort of odd how, atleast as far as I know, americans are pretty much the only country that doesn't sing their anthem at sporting events but has someone else sing it instead it's also a shame because as far as national anthems go, the Star Spangled Banner is pretty great.
Wow this is way more heart-warming than it has any right to be.
I think it's really nice when the opposing team's supporters has the sportsmanship to do something like that. Quite a difference from when riots happen cause your favourite team doesn't win.

It's shameful that it happened and all but it was literally just the result of a couple of dicks trying to capitalize on a really upsetting loss at the championship game of a nation's favourite sport
The audience even clapped likes Americans clap, one guy was 8 seconds too early.

Lots of alcohol

Serious question though: what is it about soccer that causes people to break shit and riot? Because every time my friends want me to go out to watch with them I can feel my blood pressure go up due to the diving manbabies and shitty referees.
