Anyone know any good 4-door trucks? I'm not looking to buy off of anyone on Facepunch, just asking if any of you know, or think you know, of a good truck to go find. Pictures if you can. I'm looking for at least decent gas mileage, powerful engine, and low maintenance. I'm not made of money either so I don't want to throw my money into a truck that's just going to die on me. EDIT: I live in the U.S. and am looking to buy American.
Why you need a truck.
If by truck you mean a jeep, good luck. So many morons who charge ridiculous prices for even the cheapest one, "Hurr its a jeep so it must be extra powerful and useful, so I'll charge 2k more than the realistic price even though its fucking destroyed and 10 years old :downs:"
I want to sell my truck and get an RSX :(

E.g. Ford F150, Chevy Silverado, yadda yadda yadda.

Most trucks are not going to get spectacular gas mileage, specially if you want a powerful engine. No vehicle is low maintenance, apart of being a responsible owner is taking care of your vehicle while keeping it maintained accordingly to make/model/year/engine mileage. For example older engines with more miles get less gas mileage simply because they're older. Sure they work just as good. Same goes for cars that are not taken care off, it is always good to change the parts on older cars at half the original rate. For example it says for me to change spark plugs at 100,000 miles. Seeing as I'm past that now, i change them every 50,000 miles, oil is changed ever 3-3.5k miles, ect. Most people get a car and go "lol look at what i got i'm fucking cool" and run the thing to the ground and don't take care of problems they find them or get it proper service. All you're going to do is cost yourself more money in the end. I own a Ford F150 XLT Supercab (4 door) and has a V8 5.4L triton engine. It doesn't do great on gas, but it could do worse compared to others, but then i don't do long distance drives. Also don't even bother getting a truck with that much power in less you plan do haul or use it as a truck. If you just plan on using it to get to point A to point B, then get a smaller car with a smaller engine. Nothing makes me rage more is then people who buy big ass trucks/SUV's and use them to get groceries and pick up their kids from soccer practice. (Sure it is your money, do what you want. But it is a shame to let a good truck/svu go to waste.)
I have an 03 Ram 1500 4x4 QC with a hemi. It's fun.
Just get an economical car. You'll save money in the long run. Trucks rarely have good MPG.
My damn car gets about equal MPG to a truck. The car in question: 2004 Ford Taurus SE It's like 16. D:

4 door truck? How much you looking to spend? Some things that come to mind are: Ford f250 Ford f150 Ford Explorer Sportrac Chevy Silverado (certain years had transmission issues, early-mid 90's) Dodge Ram GMC Sierra Ford Ranger (there are some that are 4 door) Chevy S10 The list goes on and on. Depends if you need to haul shit or not. If you don't, get something like a ranger, s10, or sportrac. If you do, I would go with a Ford F250 with the 7.3l Powerstroke Diesel, just because those engines are bulletproof and can make it to at least 300k miles. Same with the Cummins diesels. As I said, depends on what you are doing with it. Once you get into large pickups (like crew cabs) you are better off going with a diesel because of increased fuel mileage. An F250 with the 7.3 gets around 22 mpg, same with a Cummins. Or you can be like me and drive a 79 Chevy that gets about 6 mpg and spend $20 on gas a day just to get to school and back.

I'd rather drive a car I like and get lower mileage from petrol than drive some shitty economical box. It'll probably only cost you $10 more a week to run a thirsty car in the end so what does it really matter? Oh wait you guys are talking about American trucks. Nevermind.
F-150 5.4 (4.6 if you're feeling confident with your manhood) or bust. Look for a 01-04 SuperCrew - they're cheap as shit nowadays. The 05-08 models are even better, but expect to pay more.
The motherfuckin' Toyota Hilux. Is there anything else? Seriously. You can get a diesel, it gets very decent gas mileage for a truck. It's a Hilux, it can take knocks, it's easy to maintain, and it's reliable.
found the problem
Ford > Chevy and Dodge.
Seeing as I drive one around alot I'm qualified to say it is a fucking awesome truck. [editline]10:40AM[/editline] ninjad :argh:
Not to mention, for the one I drive, which is a manual diesel with an extra long cab, it's incredibly good for a truck performance wise. But, it depends on the driver too.
Did you ever drive one on a highway? It's like you're driving a fucking train
Lol no. It's incredibly nippy. Thats coming from someone who drives his dad's (thanks deceased uncle robert) Ferrari round the track quite a bit. inb4spoiledbrat

Noooooo unless you're going to be hauling things around in the bed on a very regular basis, you don't need a truck
OP may want to specify is he's American, European, etc. etc. because that'll help determine which truck they could get. I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra Double Cab (crew cab) with a 5.7L iForce. It's a wonderful truck and has the Toyota quality standard and would highly recommend it.

It would be difficult to get a Hilux in the states though. Top Gear did a special where they tried to kill a Hilux and it was amazing what that little truck could stand up to.
Try getting one in the States.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Tacoma Also, OP didn't specify where he lives.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Tacoma Also, OP didn't specify where he lives.
The Tacoma is also a good truck but unfortunately it only comes in a gas variety. If OP had the money, they could transplant a Cummins 4BT and have a sweeeeet little truck.
in australia we call these utes :downs:

That and the Polar Special. First car to EVER make it to the North Pole. The Toyota Hilux. Fuck yes.
Dude, the Artic Challenge was so cool. I loved how they were drinking cocktails in the beginning. :buddy:
This is my truck https://dl.dropbox.com/u/892475/IMG00061-20100318-2028.jpg It's not a 4 door, but it's a fucking ford bronco. It has plenty of room. Just got back from arizona yesterday, there was 5 of us altogether with a bunch of shit in the back. Gas is great on the highway too, got back from arizona to california in 5 hours and still had half a tank.
