Building a scale? The supplies would probaly cost more than it's worth and trying to figure out how to build one would take a long time. A tutorial would take even longer to make so I'd be surprised if there's one out there.

Just weigh some bags of sand or something on a (borrowed) digital scale. The construction itself is pretty simple, you just gotta make sure the bar is horizontal before weighing.

Bags of sand? Imo, just buy a $10 digital scale from deal-extreme. It'll be worth it in the long run because you won't need pre-weighed bags of sand for the amount of weed you want to buy.
deal extreme has scales for like $10 that are accurate to .01, get on that shit
