That spoke to me more about sexism than practically anything else I've ever read, seen, or heard in a while. And this is a guy who's been very on-the-fence on topics revolving around the more subtle cultural influences on gender. Well said Mr. Hoffman.

What does this have to do with sexism? Women chose sexual partners, at least partly, based on looks just like men do. This was a really interesting video about the over-valuation of physical beauty in society but I just don't see what it has to do with sexism.

Generally, not being considered pretty is a harder blow to a woman's self esteem than a man's. Just look at the amount of fitness/beauty/diet propaganda aimed towards women. This difference, among many other social and commercial tendencies, is sexist because it demands so much more from a large group of people solely based on their gender.
