WEST -- Investigators have revealed that the April 2013 explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas was intentional. During a press conference Wednesday, officials called the explosion "a criminal act."
http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/texas-news/watch-live-officials-say-west-explosion-was-intentional/185479785 http://www.click2houston.com/news/west-residents-await-atfs-announcement-on-cause-of-deadly-explosion I honestly was not expecting that. But whoever did it is probably dead or about to be (Texas being a death penalty state, once they find them). Edit: better title would probably be: West, Texas fertilizer fire intentionally set, ATF says Edit2: Thanks, moderators. :)
I honestly was not expecting that. But whoever did it is probably dead or about to be (Texas being a death penalty state, once they find them).
What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.
What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.

Fifteen people were killed in the explosion, including 12 first responders. Another 160 were injured. At least 500 homes were destroyed in a 37-square-block area

What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.
I'm not sure if you're aware how many people died from that explosion and how fucked up the town got from it.
What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.
They have to show there was intent in committing murder. Which when you ignite a fertilizer plant would be a practical given. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Todd_Willingham - Just to show arson leading to death penalty. Other facts about this case being irrelevant to this conversation.
What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.
They are responsible for 15 deaths, and upwards of 100 injuries. Not to mention using explosives is a federal offense.
They have to show there was intent in committing murder. Which when you ignite a fertilizer plant would be a practical given.
He ignited a chemical plant. Even if he had no plans for casualties on the low side it became manslaughter and on the high side it became domestic terrorism.
He ignited a chemical plant. Even if he had no plans for casualties on the low side it became manslaughter and on the high side it became domestic terrorism.
We'll see what the state and/or federal government charges whoever it is with. But they'll have to get them first. Which so far they haven't. I do hope they get whoever is responsible.
What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.
Killing first responders usually gets you the death penalty.
Oh man I remember that. That was a hell of a bang.
Imagine waking up to that
What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.
chances are if it was some disgruntled idiot tossing a road flare into a bin full of fertilizer, they probably didn't survive
How they managed to even come up to the conclusion it was intentional is beyond me, considering how completely fucking ruined the place must have been. Also sad to hear that after years of interviewing and investigations, they still couldn't figure out the who, and why.

Theres a lot you can learn from the ashes/marks/flame
What? You can't be put to death for arson. No chance at all that they will ever score a capital murder conviction.
Yes you can. There is a man on death row in California for just that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanza_Fire
Yes you can. There is a man on death row in California for just that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanza_Fire
It can still probably be overturned? Or can it?
If there's anything I've learned from murder porn on TV it's that there is almost always a way to tell if something was arson or not.
Are you saying they like to ejaculate on the spot before setting the fire?
It can still probably be overturned? Or can it?
Why?
Are you saying they like to ejaculate on the spot before setting the fire?
Considering how bat shit crazy some people can be, there probably are people out there who ejaculate to stuff burning or the thought of it, in fact there's a term used to describe people who are compelled to start fires, pyromaniacs.
In all 50 States if I pull up to my house and someone is attempting to light it on fire, I can shoot them dead and be able to reasonably defend my actions. I don't see how charging someone with murder/arson with the death penalty when they killed a bunch of people, first responders and leveled a portion of a town is any different.
In all 50 States if I pull up to my house and someone is attempting to light it on fire, I can shoot them dead and be able to reasonably defend my actions.
Uh, yeah, not sure I'd want to be on the defense team in the "I had to stop him from burning me alive inside the house I wasn't in" case.
Whether or not this person knew what the hell he or she was dealing with, ammonia, and by extension ammonium, shouldn't be fucked around with by any means. For the latter, just look at what happened with the 2015 Tainjin warehouse explosions. Be surprised if the perpetrator got the hell out quickly and survived. If that's the case, hopefully they catch him/her.
Why?
If they perhaps find that it's not murder after all? And thus give him life maybe. I was mostly just wondering if his fate is sealed or not. He was sentenced to die, but not executed yet.
