Rough translation:
The Free-TV-Channel Prosieben MAXX has cancelled the last two broadcasts of ELEAGUE. This has been announced today by the moderator Matthias 'Knochen' Remmert on his Facebook page. The Channel reacts to the events of recent days in Germany and decided for the time being to not stream any more matches of CS:GO. Of course the broadcasting of violent movies will continue as scheduled :downs:
The whole thing has become a ridiculous shitshow again. Politicians are blaming games like CS (because, you know, the shooter played it (just like several million other people, but shhh)), basing their bullshit on other bullshit studies, despite actual studies having shown that games like CS have no to very little influence on one. Fuck those idiots, really. The shooter was sick, got bullied and admired Hitler, Breivik, and so on, but of course it's the "Killerspiele", as they like to call them.
As I've said earlier, this is but a distraction from the very real mental health crisis the world faces. We will not solve it by running again and blaming media - we must fight on. Too many have died for us not to.
Someone call Jack Thompson, we need to go back to 2003.
Is Global Offensive still hilariously censored in Germany like Source is?

Edit: it'd make for a good good arrest swep though.
It's not real. The german version of CS:S just doesn't have blood splatter.
Just did some more research into it, seems you're correct. There's a ton of misinformation floating around about it though, so I can't find a full conclusion. Apparently the original CS1.6 (and HL1) was fully censored in Germany, with both missing blood and the "surrender" animation. CSS and CSGO do have the surrender animation built in, but from what I can tell it doesn't actually have the animation enabled in Germany. I'm glad I found out that you can enable it in any version, though, because I'm definitely going to turn it on for myself. :v:

CSGO is running on a worldwide version though, even in Germany. So I suppose the two problem-childs were CS 1.6 and CS:S. I had both german versions and CS 1.6 had yellow blood, while CS:S had none at all. Meh. It's a bit stupid, because blood particles can actually help in a competitive environment, since you're able to spot where firefights have taken place and from which direction someone was shot.
Oh god, the censored death animation in CS1.6 is hilarious actually. They literally sit down on the ground and shake their head, similar to the NPCs in the censored HL1.

Did violence not exist before video games? I'm sure Jeffrey Dahmer liked a cereal brand, should we ban that cereal because it'll make you a murdering cannibal? Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
They should have fixed the matches so that counter terrorists won every round.
Looks like the "Killerspiele" scare is back with a vengeance. Only this time, games are a lot more popular and have much bigger businesses behind them than 10 years ago. It's funny though. A new Counterstrike, a new mass-shooting, same old tactics.
