After a successful opening weekend for ‘Godzilla,’ Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have begun development on ‘Godzilla 2.’
http://screenrant.com/godzilla-2-in-development/ Godzilla was great movie this year, it was really good despite the bland human characters (minus Cranston). Can't wait for more monster fighting
Ghidorah or bust.
Yes, please. [editline]18th May 2014[/editline]
Ghidorah or bust.
You misspelled Mothra.
Next film should be called King of the Monsters
Wasn't Gareth interested in making a Monster island adaptation?
Am I the only who thought Godzilla was mediocre at best? Really, the only interesting character was Cranston and the story telling was both predictible and stupid (replace monsters with humans and you get half of Hollywood's blockbusters). Besides, spoiler alert : [sp]Cranston having the only interesting character, why have him killed that fast? "Hey we can make a somewhat intelligent movie! Naaaah, let's kill the smart guy and have gun funs while some stereoptical japanese scientist cranks up philosophical lines about nature and darwinism".[/sp]

And we as the audience were expected to side with him[/sp]
Make Tokyo devastated this time
Damn good movie, I just wish [sp]Cranston stayed around for longer[/sp] and maybe less illogical idiocy from the army
Damn good movie, I just wish [sp]Cranston stayed around for longer[/sp] and maybe less illogical idiocy from the army
Because the army would have a logical plan for battling giant monsters that [sp]eat nuclear bombs[/sp] :v:
As mediocre as it may be, it was much more deserving of praise than... that OTHER movie.
Better have Jet Jaguar in it.
Hope there will be more Godzilla in Godzilla.
Godzilla definitely need either more Godzilla or more Cranston in it. The obvious choice would have been to make Cranston play Godzilla!
I thought the movie was alright, as a film, but not much more. Although undeniably it's got a lot of vfx porn.
I kinda hope for Gigan, he's pretty sweet. Or Anguirus, either is fine.
You misspelled Mothra.
That's a weird way to spell Gigan. [editline]18th May 2014[/editline]
I kinda hope for Gigan, he's pretty sweet. Or Anguirus, either is fine.
My man!
real talk though, we need some Fucking Mothra. Hell maybe we can do it Avengers style where she has her own movie.
I loved it so much that I'm scared of a sequel. They better not ruin it. The whole great thing about it was that [sp]you don't see Godzilla and then you finally see him and he's the good guy and he kicks ass and you cum[/sp] but you can't do that twice
Just saw it today. I think the only person who experienced any emotion at all was Cranston. Everybody else was stone cold or had their concerned face on all day. Maybe if they hire some good actors and give it an actual plot it could be good.
Guys. Guys. GUYS. Godzilla vs Hedorah remake. Hedorah was a creature born from pollution and garbage. He could EASILY be re-created today in the same mantra as the original (pollution issue in Japan was nuts), and it could be focused in Beijing.
Orga
Because the army would have a logical plan for battling giant monsters that [sp]eat nuclear bombs[/sp] :v:
Considering there's a new movie every 5 years or so I'd expect them to.
Considering there's a new movie every 5 years or so I'd expect them to.
The last Godzilla movie was in 2004, actually. The biggest struggle for Warner Bros/Legendary was to just wrestle the rights from Toho. Hell, having spoken to Matt Frank (big Kaiju artist, works at IDW comics), he's had the LICENSED COMICS returned to him multiple times because Toho execs just "didn't like the style" and stuff. They're hardcore Japanese businessmen. Don't take lightly to change, and considering the last American G film was...well...a lot of fish, let's put it that way.

Though this may speak to the otherwise unmemorable (non-Cranston) acting the rest of the film had, the phone call in the hospital was done nicely. That said, I was most disappointed by Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins, not so much because of their acting but because their characters just held so little weight. Definition of underutilized right there.
[sp]they killed him off waaaaaay to early.[/sp]
Bit of a spoiler there bud. Use [sp] tags.
[sp]they killed him off waaaaaay to early.[/sp]
Seriously, spoiler tags. The movie just came out, a lot of people will not have seen it yet.
They better get Universal on board and bring back the godzilla sized King Kong.
