DNA tests have proved the seven-year-old girl taken from a Roma family in Tallaght on Monday is their daughter. The girl was dramatically removed from a Roma family's home in Tallaght, Dublin, on Monday after a tip-off to gardai that she did not look like the rest of the family.... ...The results were sent immediately to the forensic laboratory at garda headquarters before the results revealed that the girl was related to the Roma family today. The girl was taken from the house in Tallaght, in south Dublin, on Monday afternoon and placed in the care of the HSE. The girl's sister said she belonged in the Tallaght house and had been living with them since the day she was born in 2006. She said the girl attended a local school and had been watching TV on Monday afternoon when around a dozen garda officers and HSE officials arrived. "Everybody was shocked, even all the children in the house," said a brother-in-law of the young girl. "She didn't want to go with them. She was asking us, 'Why? Why they take me?"
http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/dna-test-proves-girl-7-belongs-to-roma-family-29694850.html Called it. Edit: I'm glad you think this shit is as moronic as I do wingz. Finally, something we agree on!
But how can I justify my incoherent bigotry now?
So wait, stuff like that can actually happen? :pwn:
But how can I justify my incoherent bigotry now?
Don't worry, there's still plenty of reasons to be prejudice towards gypsies.
Don't worry, there's still plenty of reasons to be prejudice towards gypsies.
oh thank god
But how can I justify my incoherent bigotry now?
You and me both, I think I need to go and read the Mail Online to help me feel a bit better.
So wait, stuff like that can actually happen? :pwn:
Yes. Presumably one of their ancestors fucked a blond person or some such.
Can someone explain the controversy of this to me please? Like, I don't see what is so controversial here besides the kidnapping?
I didn't expect it by the least.
So they can temporarily take your children just because they don't look like you? Good going Ireland, you're justifying kidnapping with hearsay.
I thought the parents had no paperwork on the kid? If you live in a first world country and have no papers on the kids in your care, don't be shocked if they are taken from you. That's how it should work. If you're being persecuted anyways, as the Roma are, don't make it easier for the law to screw you over.
Can someone explain the controversy of this to me please? Like, I don't see what is so controversial here besides the kidnapping?
Some git who made sketchy 'documentaries' about Roma saw a Roma family with a white looking girl and went 'Hurr, gypsy child thieves!' Then a family got broke up until the wonders of modern genetics told the authorities that they're racist idiots.
EDIT: Seems like this isn't the same girl as the one in greece that I was referring to. Original post:
Something really sketchy about this. First of all, it doesn't line up at all with their story that they adopted her from a Bulgarian man, which (according to them) visits the child every-so-often. Also, the first DNA test failed and the child doesn't look like the "parents" at all.

Genetics tests can go wrong in a number of ways or be inconclusive. That's why they did more than one.

Granted, I live in the US, but I didn't think Roma had any specific skin color that was representative of their ethnicity or whatever-the-fuck.
Too bad she has to keep living in Tallaght now.
At least she's with her family. Better than being in the foster system.
Well, that's the good news.
What is wrong with you?
Every part of me wants to believe its sarcasm, but when it comes to this topic its impossible to tell. There are so many people who think just like that and worse.
So...... they took the girl away from parents with nothing but hair color and an anonymous tip? ................................................YIKES............................................ What world do I live in? Holy fuck.
So...... they took the girl away from parents with nothing but hair color and an anonymous tip? ................................................YIKES............................................ Being racist is one thing, kidnap is another. Even if you kidnap cuz racist.
Welcome to the real world, where racism isn't just a thing the SJWs made up.
The police have to act on any accusation involving a child be it molestation, abuse or kidnap. The evidence didn't add up (not the families fault) and the police had little choice but to remove her. Its a shit situation but I wouldn't accuse the authorities of racism here, the person that rang it in? Maybe but we know nothing about them.

Isn't this the second case though?
Isn't this the second case though?
Two events happening at a similar date doesn't point to anything.
Two events happening at a similar date doesn't point to anything.
Its actually the third but okay. A similar thing happened in Ireland earlier this week with a Roma boy who was taken away from his parents. Who surprise surprise turned out to be biologically related to his Roma parents. Its just hysteria about all this right now.
